Death of parent CHB reclaim backdating?
flies
A friend had a high earning husband who recently died. CHB (Child benefit) wasn't in payment as he had very high earnings. He died in November, so had 7 months paid work this tax year, under the earnings threshold for CHB.
My friend has reclaimed CHB and they are backdating it to the beginning of the week in which he died. Can she reclaim the whole financial year from April, or at least some arrears?
