It's the end of month 2 of my investment journey. As you can see from the table below my investment has gone from -1.17% to +0.87% but most importantly my total amount deposited to date is now £860.00 in 2 months. Let's see if the interest can grow even further next month.

Today i have changed my Investment pie. Below is how it was previously ….

It contained 7 slices but had some overlap and repeat the same investments. For example the Vanguard All World contains the same stocks as what's in the S&P 500 which also contains the same stocks as the S&P 500 information Tech sector so im effectively tripling my investment on those areas.

Below is my new investment pie …..

I have gone more aggressive to maximise growth. I have removed the Gold and Bitcoin slices as Gold is defensive to protect against drops in the market, and Bitcoin is highly volatile and speculative. These both cancel each other out and dilute the growth potential. I have removed the S&P 500 FTSE and S&P 500 information tech sector as these are both covered in the All World FTSE. I have added the Nasdaq 100 which does replicate some of the All World investments but the Nasdaq has out preformed global indexes over long stretches. But is also crashes harder in tech cycles, so it is more volatile. This new pie could have big swings in market crashes but it has strong recovery potential. It has stronger long term growth than a more defensive portfolio like my last pie which contained gold and bitcoin. It does require discipline during downturns, so i am prepared to keep up my daily investments no matter how far the markets drop during crashes as this is the time you can lower your average buy price of your investments so when the market does recover over time you recover quicker (Pound cost averaging).

To change my pie i have to sell the slices of the pie i have got rid of and also invest more in the sectors i have increased the percentage of and added completely. So here is the breakdown of what i have to buy and sell when the market opens tomorrow.

I do believe that the stock market tomorrow will take a big hit and go down significantly due to the war started in Iran. So i think that gold will increase in price when i sell so i should make more than on that. But also i may take a hit on the sale of the S&P 500 investments but on the other hand i should get a reduced price on the new purchases of the Nasdaq, small cap and All world so it should all just balance out. I am expecting the stock markets to go down for quite a while the war in Iran plays out and then recover afterwards, which is usually what happens in times of war, so the key is to keep investments constant no matter how far it crashes.

So going forward i have decided to change my investment from £20 daily to £10 daily (Sun to Thurs). As my mortgage is due for renewal in 4 months now and i am expecting this to be around £150 more per month than i am currently paying so £400 per month would be too much for me to comfortably achieve every month but £200 is more realistic and i want to make my investments consistent over a long period to give it the best chance of long term growth. So below is how my new pie will look tomorrow when my rebalancing has been done. It's cleaner and tailored more to long term growth than previously. So hopefully my plan to hold it for around 10 years should see some significant growth in that time.
