I asked for it to be moved because your questions have absolutely nothing to do with pensions (and it seems the moderators agree). I hope this won’t be deleted because it is useful for others to read who are in a similar position and this is the board they will look to for questions about changing wills by DoV.ggmf said:Thank you to @cfw1994 @powerful_Rogue and @JGB1955 for your rsponses to my post. I fail to see why @Keep_pedalling requested my post to be moved here when there are so many questions on gifting and inhertiance on the Pensions, annuities & retirement planning board.
I have asked for this thread to be deleted and hope that @Keep_pedalling remains very happy.4 -
You don't need your siblings' permission, only those who lose out have to consent. And you don't really need a solicitor. Since your children are adults, there is no need for trusts.
A simple letter kept with the probate papers for the next 7 years avoids any misunderstanding as to the status of the transfer. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

In our case, each beneficiary (wife’s siblings) was giving up a five-figure sum to their offspring (thankfully each has 2 which made things very easy!), so all agreed to a shared DoV document 👍
On the topic of where this thread lives - I hadn’t even clocked there was a “Deaths, funerals & probate” section here, but it does make more sense to live under that heading 🤷♂️
@ggmf - hope that makes sense and you can leave it here.
Hopeful might be useful to others….indeed, would have helped my research before crafting ours 👍Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!0
