unknown second mortgage showing on Experian

Options
Hi, I'm trying to get a mortgage and have an Experian credit score of 999.  Weirdly though I'm being rejected by the underwriter. Today I learnt that there's a Barclays flexible mortgage with 0 balance showing on the report, additional to the existing mortgage.  I don't have a second mortgage nor do I know what this one is.  How do I resolve this?

Your score is totally meaningless and Barclays cannot see it, ignore it.

The underwriter for your mortgage application will look at up to three of your main credit reports (Experian, Equifax, Transunion).  They will also look at affordability, income stability etc. and calculate their own score.  They will not use the scores you see elsewhere.
Contact Barclays if you don't understand the Barclays item on your Experian report.
If you use a mortgage broker, they might be able to shed some light on why you are being rejected for a new mortgage.

Check for any unknown financial connections/addresses as well.
I had an issue last year where my current account bank added an unknown person along with their mortgage onto my report. They were in default and my 'score' dropped like a lead balloon.
It took them 3 months to accept their system error and a further 7 months to remove it.
I took it to the FOS and got £500 for the trouble.
