Vet's liability (dentistry)

My dog needs 2 teeth extracted and I have just received the pre-op info pack from my vets. There is a list of outcomes that they say they are not liable for and treatment would be at my cost, including fracturing the jaw and damage to the tongue or eye.

I have not had a dog that needed dental treatment before and these exclusions seem unfair considering pet insurance usually excludes dental. I know my formerly independent vets have been bought out by a private equity firm, but wondered if these clauses are commonplace?

"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

Not something that my independent Vet has ever said to me for various dental treatments over the years.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
