Anyone familiar with the 1.6 petrol engine as used in Grandlands?

A few high-end models use this engine, but I can find little info on it.
The 3-cylinder 1.2 - whilst a wee beaut in performance - has the dreaded wet-belt concern, and the nice 1.5 diesel is sadly relatively rare.
So, pros and cons of the 1.6 jobbie?

    It's the BMW Prince...

The Puretech wet belt is overblown. Do basic routine maintenance properly (right oil changed at sensible intervals, change the belt (2.5-3hr job) at 6yr/60k), and it's just fine. Any of the original-compound belts should have been changed years ago.

    A very telling '...'
The diesel - assuming it's the nice Peugeot unit as used in Citroens and even BMWs - is the best bet of the lot, I'm sensing?

    Yes, it's the ubiquitous Ford DLD415 / PSA DV5.

    I thought the DLD415/ DV5 is 1499cc. (badged 1.5)

    The DLD416/DV6 is 1560cc (badged 1.6)

Both versions found their way in the Grandland, it depends on year.
The 1.5 being later and it's derived from the 1560cc.

I'm not up on the DV5, but I guess they are similar to the DV6.
Poor servicing leads to engine sludge.
Early engines suffered some dodgy injectors.
And DPF issues are common on all short tripped diesels.

Nearly forgot, I think the SCR system (Adblue) is prone to failing.
The pump/tank is in one piece and I believe that and sometimes the Adblue injector can fail.

The 1.6 is a Prince engine.
A joint development with BMW and PSA.

PSA called the the EP6 but they are known as THP followed by the PS rating.

A few Grandlands used this on it's own but I think it's the base for the hybrid Grandland.
The base of the engine is the old TU engine, but with more modern fuelling and cylinder heads.

High pressure fuel pumps are prone as are failing timing chain tensioners.
