Tesco Hudl 2 problem

I have a problem with my Tesco Hudl - I can't press the power button to turn it on or off. I searched for a solution but nearly every one I could find starts with 'press the power button'. I think it might be stuck because when I try to press it it feels as if there's no button there. At the moment the only way to use the tablet is if I plug it into my laptop, but I can't do that all the time, like if I'm out.

There is very little chance that a hardware fault on that device could ever be economically viable to fix. In any case Tesco stopped all support 5+ years ago and it can't be factory reset without complicated workarounds to avoid bricking it.

Time to consider a replacement. If you tell us what you use it for and an idea of a budget then people may be able to suggest something suitable.

I mainly use it for playing games (although I only have two game apps on it and they seem to take up about 90-95% of the space on it), watching videos and taking pictures. as for budget, I'd like the cheapest  available for what I and (although I don't think I could get one for £10-20 somehow).

There's cheap and there's cheap Chinese no name no comeback plastic dreck.

That Hudl cost the equivalent of about £180 today in 2015, is that a price you'd be willing to spend?

Amazon Fire tablets are good value but they might not have the games you are currently playing in their appstore, can be hacked to access the full Google Playstore.

[ you used to (still?) run your own website, you must know about this stuff?]

Try pressing a bit of bluetak on the button and pulling it, or maybe use a bit of tape. It might just jog the button out of its stuck mode.

If you feel adventurous you might consider watching an appropriate YouTube vid on opening a Hudl2 for a possible repair of the sticky power button.
Or you could try either switch cleaner of isopropyl alcohol squirted into the on/off switch - it could work, you never know.

I finally decided on an Acer 10-inch tablet, but there are a few problems - one of the game apps (Sonic Dash) doesn't seem to work, the videos on it are fuzzy and so are any pictures I take (I thing you need a steady hand to take them, and I don't).
