Well I don’t know what’s going on but I just got my renewal quote from Aviva and it’s £20 cheaper than last year! Don’t think I’ve ever had that before. I’m at max NCD so no change there.

That's been the case with 4 cars in my family this year. The comparison sites have been throwing up cheapest quotes £100 or so more. So much easier, let's hope it continues.0

Can I suggest you do a lucky dip on the lottery today.RedImp_2 said:Well I don’t know what’s going on but I just got my renewal quote from Aviva and it’s £20 cheaper than last year! Don’t think I’ve ever had that before. I’m at max NCD so no change there.
On a more serious note, it appears Aviva are increasing their customer base overall and offering better deals on many items like car insurance, they will increase custom base.
The Aviva Internet site/sites are pretty good in my opinion.
IIRC when I reinsured my car last year, my previous insurer rewarded a loyal no issue customer with was it a 50 or 60% uplift in premium.
Just 5mins on a search engine and Aviva was popping up with best overall deals, deal was so good I put on a few nice extras and IIRC price was very close that I paid in 2022 for a far lesser policy.
After Aviva get their customer base up, they will probably water car insurance down, just like banks do offering great accounts with good interest etc, when they get the customer numbers, they chop it and blame whatever or whoever to try not upsetting too many customers.

My insurance renewed just before Christmas and had also reduced slightly.

Just for balance…
My recent renewal notice from Aviva quoted a price which was 48% higher than last year!(I won’t be renewing with them).1 -
Just to complete this, I’ve had e-mails from two comparison sites I used last year. There was one price similar to my renewal, but most started £10 more and upwards.0

I'm trying to make sense of an Aviva quote for a multi car insurance. It has given me two quotes for the same thing, just a slight price difference. Not sure if it's two amounts or what. Suppose I need to call them.
Looking at changing our insurance. It's with LV, due on 2 February. Had the quote for £1100 (up by £130) but then on Saturday hubby had a deer run into his car, caused a bit of damage, called LV, and it's gone for repairs. But they've just sent us an amended quote, it's now £1693 - arghhhh. I really see how they can just add on £500.

Perhaps you have moved into a category of lower risk....I remained with same insurer for a number of years as they were always cheaper, but one year they were way more expensive than on comparison sites. It depends who they are targeting for their market of people they would prefer to insure.

I've spoken to Aviva and it was just two different quotes, one was with legal costs and one without.Northern_Wanderer said:Perhaps you have moved into a category of lower risk....I remained with same insurer for a number of years as they were always cheaper, but one year they were way more expensive than on comparison sites. They are still £600 cheaper than LV so we've moved over to them. I did contact LV to tell them and they didn't seem to care.
