EDF Evolve Tariff??
EDF Evolve Tariff??
I have EDF Evolve EV Tariff which like many EV tariff charges reduced prices for units used between 12 midnight and 5 am
My electric meter just records total units used, so that's all I can submit with a reading
EDF choose not to be transparent with your day/night units in your online portal, so you can't verify the day/night units charged in your bill
This is exacerbated by that fact they are billing you 3 monthly despite recording consumption by the minute
How are you currently verifying your day/night units?

Assuming it is smart meter based use an app like bright or loop of a service like n3rgy (which last post here suggested now needed loop registration) to upload 1/2 hrly registers historically to spreadsheets.
Their is iirc 13months storage spec min in every smart - smets 1 or 2 - meter.
Other ev tariffs can use twin / 2 block tou registers - peak off peak - like old economy 7 type metering - but others will use 1/2 hourly. So you need not only smart - but reliably communicating smart - to benefit.
If your meter hasn't been reconfigured for twin rate chances are they are using half hourly.
And you can usec1/2 hrly anyway even to check block tou registers.
Bear in mind though the apps do tend to present time slots differently iirc and gmt / dst differences on the 12-5 are possible - as seemed the case for the BG EV tariff.1 -
Are you sure your meter only display total units? It would need to have 2 registers to bill on 2 different sets of unit prices. There's buttons you can press on the meter to cycle through the registers.
Have you actually spoken to EDF? For a bsic question like this you can do it via WhatsApp its very easy.

As Scot_39 mentions, if EDF are receiving the half hourly usage from the smart meter, they can use this to bill the different times at the different rates.
@Gobsh If you download the free Bright App on your phone and enrol with the service, you will then be enable to enter the times and unit costs for the Evolve Tariff and track your usage. It may even pick up the prices automatically if EDF have configured your meter correctly.
It isn't real time but the data is usually no more than a few hours out of date.1 -
I installed the bright app and it works fine but still doesn't separate day/ night units, so still no way to verify my electricity usage at all???

Do you know? It should be obvious from your bill?
