Thanks EH!
It's those big things, but it's also the little things too - the postman not leaving a card, the milkwoman not delivering to the right place, the missing supermarket staff discount... grr! I know they are all small things in the grand scheme of things (and very much first world problems), but they all just niggle. I am pleased about the vets - that will help, given the amount we've currently paid out there recently. (Have yet to hear about insurance claim - I meant to ask at the vets, but I think I'll leave it a couple of days now!). I'm surprised you'd not had the snow - it was quite substantial (in the air anyway - huge flakes) and lasted a good hour...Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

So sorry you're feeling like this are ganging up somewhat.. hope some of them get resolved soon x5

I hear where you are coming from TMV.
I have outstanding issues with the plumber (decorator fixed the leaks where he hadn't done the radiators up fully, but there's a vile smell in the bathroom when the towel rail gets hot... and it's getting WAY too hot), I need to test the DW after it's latest tantrum, a couple of my squash have decided they're not going to store well (at least, not in my kitchen!), the decorator (who is lovely) has had to have windows open today, and although the haunted lights have now been fixed, the septic tank pump is tripping the electrics so I need to chase people to get that fixed. Oh, and the new laptop from work that should have been sent out on Friday and arrived on Monday has FINALLY been tracked down after I escalated the poor response from both the so-called helpdesk and the reception/logistics team and is due today... the day I specifically said I couldn't do due to a hospital appointment 🤯
Sorry for venting on your diary 🤣3 -
Feel free to vent away greenbee! Being an adult is just so frustrating sometimes!Plugged the car in earlier as house battery was low, so felt some cheap electrons would be a good idea (car needs charging anyway and I did check the state of the grid - quite green, it's quite windy apparently). So have been having fun boosting the heating (to above target) while the car has charged in its 30 min chunks. Also managed a cheap shower too. House battery is back to 20% now at least (it was empty).Had long meeting with Cambridge boss/friend. We mostly discussed work...Back to main client work now and will probably work late as Mr MV has a meeting that doesn't start until 5 ☹️ and is then potentially going for a drink with a supplier so won't be asking for a lift back from the station until late-ish. (At this point, we think he will be having dinner at home...).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

It has been a beautiful sunny day & forecast to be the same for 2 days. But it is very very cold. I quite enjoyed looking out of the window & watching the trails of aircraft going through the sky. Very nice if you don't have to go out in it!3

Very, very cold @badmemory! It was absolutely bitter when I went for a walk earlier. It was sunny yesterday, but not so much today - and it actually started with freezing rain while I was walking - a weird noise as it hit the crispy leaves!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all,Discovered this morning that main client's emails had been going into my spam folder (due to the change of his email address with the demise of the old company). Oops. All sorted with a phone call though and I've sent one thing back to him and am working on another (not the big project, but something quicker). Apparently things are busy again, which is good! Have been copying Cheery's idea and using a pomodoro timer to maintain focus today - which has worked well and I think I'll keep with it. I may have told main client that I would get the project I'm working on now back to him before lunch tomorrow, totally forgetting that I'm having brunch with my ex-Brownies friends tomorrow... so I'm at my desk today until it's pretty much done!The prescription for Ginger Cat was ready so I've collected that and ordered his medication, as well as the next lot of flea treatment. I got 30ml for £20 online, as opposed to the 15ml for £32 (or 5ml for £25) from the vet. It's an absolute disgrace. Similar price differences (although not quite so bad) for the flea treatment.Dinner tonight is pizza - dough is proving, having been made first thing with reduced yeast and the mozzarella water in the mix.MS things:
* Prescription sorted and ordered - sadly no cashback but at least a huge saving on vet prices.
* Have chased 🐙
* Lots of work - and being productive
* Clicks and HW doneGratitudes:
* Lovely light first thing when I went for a walk in the woods
* A chat with a dog walker (and a friendly greeting from her lovely black lab)
* A quick chat with mumHave a good afternoon all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all,Thanks @Hettyhound - I've used them before but had forgotten about them! Will try to remember for future purchases.Had an early start this morning to get work finished before heading to ex-Brownies friend's for brunch. She'd decorated the table beautifully as it was her Christmas present to us. Had a lovely time and then a lengthy drive home in the sunshine via somewhere I was planning on getting part of Mr MV's present from - but they didn't stock what I wanted, so I've ordered online (with cashback).Mr MV has submitted a job application for a move sideways and slightly up with his company. A different division so entirely new management which would be good but also only a 12-month contract (although there's always a possibility it could be made permanent). If he doesn't get an interview, I don't think they know what they're looking for, but we'll see.I'm back on the larger job for main client, but I don't think we'll be working until 5 here today - Mr MV is supremely unmotivated (he keeps hearing that people are resigning or considering resigning, which isn't helping). Gorgeous weather, but I don't think we'll be leaving early enough to enjoy the sunshine - tempting though it is! I am nearly at the point where I'll be happy with progress made with this piece of work, although I do still need to 'pop in' to Cambridge and do a bit there.MS things:
* Clicks and HW
* TCB on Mr MV's present
* Sticking to the meal plan - pizza last night (mmm... she says that and remembers she's made no attempt to sort dal for tonight...)
* Expenses paid for a volunteer role
* Have heard from vets re insurance claim - just clarifying some stuff before they put the claim inGratitudes:
* A lovely brunch with two friends
* Gorgeous sunshine here
* It's Friday - it has been a long week! (The last for a while - we'll have Mr MV's birthday afternoon off next week, I've got two days of Christmas partying the following week and then we're off to Berlin the week after that! Whoop!)Have a good evening all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
