Wow tmv - you've really got DL Paris down pat.  Well done you for making a fantastic experience for the Brownies - I know how much of a difference trips like this make for young people. I think staying 'on-site' probably is the best option, and would add to the whole experience.

I've only ever been to the Florida Disney land/Epcot centre, and I remember the shops being full there too - although you literally had to buy what you wanted when you saw it, by the end of the day they were empty of stock 😱  I'm sure if I asked LG did they want to go to DL Paris, then they would say yes, but I'm not sure it is their thing.  Never say never though!

I'm glad that there were at least options for Ginger puss.

Had to G00gle pj-case - never heard of one! I remember my Gran would have us air out and then fold our pj's with then went under our pillows when we made it our beds!

I too had a pjs case, but mine wasn't Bagpuss, it was a tiger! I still have it 🥰 (although I don't use it as a pj's case any more 😂)

Hope your ginger cat is feeling back to full strength soon, without too much damage to your wallet 😬

Glad you had a lovely time away 😊
May I ask what you use the tiger case for now @Cheery_Daff?
😂😂 yes that does rather sound like I have an exciting new use for it 😂 sadly it's just in the loft with the other teddies 😬 It's got a really big and substantial head, and without pjs in is quite floppy 😂

Time for teds to run free! We're making up Christmas boxes to go to children who otherwise won't have anything.   We're currently mission control and have piles of donated pressies on the table that people have run out of boxes for.  One ted is so big that we've been debating whether he could arrive sporting mittens and a bobble hat, cleaning his teeth (as toothpaste and brushes are accepted) and still fit in the regulation size box. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx

I never had one either - PJs were folded and under the duvet. I was never entirely sure of the point!

Interesting - the shops are definitely never empty at DLP! It sounds like while it might not be LG's thing, you'd quite enjoy it! 😁 I like DLP, but would never go to the US parks - too much (false) cheeriness for me - at least in Paris you get the Parisian attitude to balance it out 😂

Options for Ginger puss are not great tbh. 😔I've been reading this morning and if it's heart disease, it doesn't look like there's much they can do - just have to manage the condition. But maybe it was just stress? We'll be counting his resting breaths this week to see whether he's having to work harder at breathing, which would indicate his heart isn't doing as well.

Poor kitty I hope it is nothing serious I have a ginger and they are just lovely characters. Thanks for the low down on Disney I have never been but good to know should the opportunity arise. Sounds like staying in the park is the way to go.

    Morning all,
Lots of people watching opportunities at DLP too GP, although less so with limited time and an 8-year-old in tow. I can imagine there was lots to see in Florida! I love the attention to detail - I wish I'd taken a photo of the corridor carpet in our hotel - the outside edges were tyre tracks, with a design in the middle made up of traffic cones and road lines (it was a Cars themed hotel) - just clever when you look.
So Ginger cat's breathing is fine - well below levels of concern, but reading up, it suggest the rhythm detected is (almost always) a cause for concern. So I'm a bit confused - the vet said it could be stress from the visit, but that's not what the Internet suggests. I've ordered a stethoscope - if it's still clearly there, then it's a definite reason to have an echo done, but if not on several occasions, maybe she misheard or it was stress-related (there will be more thinking to do, regardless). The stethoscope cost less than £5, so even if the only benefit is that we get them both used to having it on them, it's worth it. According to one website, you might hear the rhythm without a stethoscope, so I think it should be something we, with untrained ears, should be able to hear if it's there.
In other news, am slowly making my way  through more work for main client. Have checked on Cambridge stuff and supported a colleague with a report. Have also done a bit of admin for a US client and finalised another small US project. I still have other US work to do (although deadline is a way off and it shouldn't take long). I have a load of washing on the line and will put another out soon. Forecast is dry today but a bit better tomorrow, so if it stays out overnight, I won't be too worried.
Dinner last night (from the IP book) was tasty and the beans were perfectly cooked. Annoyingly, I left the remains (a lunch portion) in the warm IP for an hour or so after we ate, so I think I'm going to chuck it, rather than risk the rice. Really cross about this, but it's not worth the risk. Today Mr MV has taken a portion of yesterday's soup in the thermos, with a roll, some banana cake, a pastry (hypermarket-bought) and some grapes. He'll eat well! I've got soup and a roll too (and I've had a small bit of cake and a pastry, so I can't complain). Not sure about tonight's dinner - might also be an IP book recipe (we've got some sweet potatoes and I think there's a couple of recipes in there that we like that use them - a satay-based one, I think). I have evening class tonight, so it'll need to be fairly quick.
Had a confusing email from Octopus earlier about my 'meter appointment'. It mentioned turning the power off.... very confusing, as I wasn't aware I needed a new electricity meter for the heat pump.... turns out it was about the gas meter, which they'll be decommissioning next Tuesday - so only a week more of gas standing charges to go!

    Gratitudes:
    * Ginger cat's breathing is well within normal range

😻😻😻 Mustard is beautiful Beanie! Yes, it seems to be good, but just a bit confusing. Have yet to see if the anti-inflammatories he's got for possible arthritis will make a difference.
