Negligent Letting Agent

@_Penny_Dreadful Thank you. First experience of anything like this, blown away that a ridiculous clause like that can negate the letting agents having to do their literal job!
PRS were useless, although having now spoken to others with experience of them, they're clearly just another company paid by letting agents to protect themselves!

But strongly disputing it 'fully defines' the rent increase. They're leaving it up to me to work out the RPI on that date and then accurately adjust my rent - that's their job.
And letting arrears build for 26 months without notice? Absolute negligence
The LA is the LL's agent, ie effectively their assistant instead of getting involved personally. You have a contract that says you're liable to pay the rent as defined in the contract. Often a LL or LA might go they extra mile and let you know, but that doesn't make it a contractual obligation on them. If you wanted an agent to calculate your rent for you, you can pay for one. Or let us know the exact dates and rent amounts, and posters here, me included will happily do that 5 min calc.
Please do dig out the clause in your contract that says otherwise.0
