Seems I've got 3p in interest in my account, am I right in thinking I've got to have a minimum of £50 in my account to be able to withdraw to my nominated account?

Not aware of anything like that, I don't see anything like that in their general savings T&cs, is there something in your account's terms? Which account is it?
If there is, you could send £50 then request closure.

Yes unfortunately.

but I think you're only after a withdrawal anyway, so request a withdrawal - not closure.

I was baffled as to why anyone would want to withdraw the 3p they'd "found in the account" other than to close it, to be honest.

Why does anyone create any savings account with as many building societies, banks etc as possible?

The answer is simple it's to build up loyalty and what does loyalty in the right places get you?, access to better accounts.

Thanks all, I shall deposit £50 then take it back out along with the 3p interest.

Think I might have a new project to work on now.
