Joint savings account.

I am 78 and recently had a stroke and then bowel cancer operations etc.
Knowing that probate can often take over a year, I would like to open a joint savings account with my daughter to tide her over during that time.
Problem 1. I live in a town with no bank or banking hub.
Problem 2. I bank with Nat West and Halifax and neither will accept a joint account where the parties do not live at the same address.
Problem 3. My daughter lives 150 miles away and although she has access to a number of banks, I might have difficulties walking to some of the banks.
Any suggestions?

Try Lloyds Bank. I had a joint account there with my mother, we were at different addresses and had online banking1

Unless you have a very large amount of money in your account probate is not going rot be needed before the bank will release it to your executor. Barclays, Nat West, Lloyds and Natuonwide for instance all need to be holding more than £50,000 before they need probate.
What could be more difficult is having to deal with your finances in the event of you losing mental capacity and for this you should set up a financial lasting power of attorney as a matter of urgency. This not only enables her to deal with day to day stuff but things like selling your house if you need more appropriate housing needs.4 -
You seem to be restricting your search to high street banks, maybe some of the online ones might be more viableRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.1
