DH dug over three raised beds today ready for me to start planting tomorrow. The sunny weather continues to make sure that the batteries are full.

I've been repairing some more jewellery and making a couple of cross-stitch cards for friends birthdays. I've finished the cross-stitch on a gardening related card and I've started on a wine bottle with a glass card.

This morning, I planted out the courgette, pumpkin and strawberry plants. I also moved some self-sown pansies that were in the wrong place and did some weeding. It rained all afternoon so I switched to inside jobs.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t very sunny today and there was no wind, so the generator was needed to top up the batteries.

DH sold something on eBay so that was a positive. He also made dinner – potato wedges and baked beans. Basic, but good.

Today the old strawberry patch that was beginning to be overgrown has been cleared, and I’ve planted more new strawberry plants, and turnip and kohl rabi seedlings.

DH had to go into town so he did the grocery shopping. He went a bit wild buying biscuits but they will be eaten eventually. He also did a trawl of the charity shops and came back with a jacket, a bag and a few DVDs – so nothing outlandish.

The weather has been overcast so the generator has been on again today which isn't great given the increased cost of oil, as I'm trying to make our current oil tank last as long as possible.

I woke up this morning and found the foam inside of one of the dog beds strewn about the floor. I think it was team work by both dogs. Neither of them has chewed anything since they were puppies so this was unusual - they are both fine, so I think rough play just got the better of them.

It's been raining on and off all day, so I didn't get into the garden, but it has been windy and from the right direction so the batteries are full.

It’s been beautiful weather today, mild and sunny. The batteries are full because of the solar panels.

I’ve been out in the garden weeding and sowing more seeds – lettuce, spinach, carrots and radishes. My two patches of wild garlic are looking very lush (wild garlic and cheese sandwiches are just fabulous). The rhubarb patch is also doing well so there will be lots of crumbles over the coming weeks. There are lots of birds nesting in the garden this year and it’s a pleasure to watch them flying in and out of the trees and the ivy. I've been reading the latest RSPB advice on feeding the birds and they suggest not feeding them from 1st May to 31st October https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2lwvz1pl1no

It’s been sunny the last few days, so the batteries are being kept full by the solar panels.

Today I’ve been gardening (weeding and planting potatoes).

When I bought the job lots of jewellery to fix there were lots of loose beads in the bottom of the boxes and I already had a large stash that I’ve collected over the years. As all the different sizes were mixed up together it was going to be a long job to separate them. Inspiration struck though and I drilled some holes in the bottom of a margarine tub and used it as a sieve. Starting with the smallest, but I will be drilling the holes bigger and bigger and resifting. It means I will end up with loads of sorted beads that I can use.

Daisy_1571 thanks it made things so much easier.

Peb I do have my lazy days too (drinking coffee and reading books) and I thorougly enjoy them.

DH and I went to the city today as I had a dental checkup appointment. The city is 60 miles away, so not somewhere we go often. We made the most of it though as we had lunch at a café and visited some friends.

DH had a £5 birthday voucher from Hobbycraft so we went there. My intention had been to spend just the £5 on felt, but they had mini cross-stitch kits for £1, and I couldn’t resist, so all in all I spent £20 (£15 with the voucher). We also bought petrol, posted a couple of DH’s eBay sales and did some grocery shopping. A very satisfying day.
