TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Magic Radio x Wickes – On-Air Competition – Budget Builder” (the “Competition”).

 

These terms and conditions (the “Specific Terms”) for the Competition should be read alongside our general competition terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”) which will also apply to this Competition. Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail.

 

1. ENTRY ROUTES AND COSTS

 

Registration is restricted to one entry per person.

2. ENTRY PERIODS

 

Start Date and End Date:

 

Entrants will be able to enter the online pre-registration for this competition from 01/01/2025 at 00:01 (the “Start Time”) to 09/01/2025 at 10:00 (the “End Time”).

 

The on-air part of this competition will take place each day from 06/01/2025 until 10/01/2025 between 16:00 and 19:00.

 

Entries received before the “Start Time” or after the “End Time” will be invalid.

 

The successful entrant(s) will be given exact timings of the on-air competition by the Magic production team ahead of being brought to air. 

 

Please note Magic Radio reserves the right to remove the competition or alter the competition dates. 

 

Winner Announcement: The name and the hometown of the winner will be announced on-air after each competition round.

 

3. COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

 

·      Entrants must enter this competition via the online pre-registration page during the dates outlined in Section 2 for the chance to win.

·      All the online registrations will then be pooled together where a contestant will be selected at random to come to air from 06/01/2025 to 10/01/2025 for the chance to play the on-air game ‘Budget Builder.’

·      The on-air presenters will ask the contestant(s) questions for the chance to add Wickes gift cards to the total prize pot to be won on 10/01/2025.

·      Each day from 06/01/2025 to 10/01/2025 there will be the chance to add £2,000 worth of Wickes gift cards to the total prize pot. For every question answered correctly, £1,000 worth of Wickes gift cards will be added to the final prize pot.

·      The first contestant brought to air on 06/01/2025 will be tasked with answering 2 questions. If the contestant answers the first question correctly, they will add £1,000 worth of Wickes gift cards to the final prize pot, and they will also proceed to the next question for another chance to build the final prize pot.

·      If the contestant answers one question correctly but the second question incorrectly, £1,000 worth of Wickes gift cards will be added to the prize pot, but that contestant will not move onto the next day’s competition round and will not win any prize. Contestants will only proceed to the next day’s competition round if they get both questions correct each day.

·      If the contestant answers no questions correctly, the contestant will not win any prize, and the presenters will then proceed with bringing a new contestant to air for the chance to play.

·      This process will continue until the total daily prize pot of £2,000 worth of Wickes gift cards has been accumulated, and until the final date of the competition on 10/01/2025 in which the final contestant of the competition will win a total of £10,000 Wickes gift card, pending all questions are answered correctly.

·      There will be no other winners except for the final contestant on the final day of the competition.

·      If a contestant at any point does not answer a question correctly, they will not win a prize, and another contestant will be brought to air for the chance to win or contribute to the final prize pot.

·      Upon hitting the £2,000 prize pot worth of Wickes gift cards each day, the total daily prize value will roll over to the following day’s competition. Outlined below:

 

o  Day 1: Total prize pot is £2,000 worth of Wickes gift cards

o  Day 2: Total prize pot is £4,000 worth of Wickes gift cards

o  Day 3: Total prize pot is £6,000 worth of Wickes gift cards

o  Day 4: Total prize pot is £8,000 worth of Wickes gift cards

o  Day 5: Total prize pot is £10,000 worth of Wickes gift cards

 

·      The contestant will only be deemed a winner, upon being selected and told by the presenter and the Magic Radio production team that they are a winner.

4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

 

·      Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry.

·      Entries are restricted to one entry per person.

·      Our employees and/ or their family members or employees of any company involved in the competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter.

·      Anyone who has won a Bauer competition to the value of £500 or more within the past six months on any Bauer Radio brand, and/or anyone living at the winning address will not be eligible to win this competition.

·      We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Terms.

5. THE PRIZE

There will be one winner in total at the end of the competition on 10/01/2025 who will win the full prize value of £10,000 worth of Wickes gift cards. This prize will be broken down into 4 Wickes gift cards as outlined below:

 

·      One winner to win 4 x £2,500 Wickes gift cards

The Prize is provided by Wickes (the “Prize Provider”). Bauer Media is not responsible for any aspect of the Prize, including unsatisfactory quality or late delivery or a prize winner being unable to take up any aspect, or the entirety of the prize due to their own circumstances or restrictions.

*Proof of ID and Address will need to be provided to Bauer Media. Once the winners have passed the winners checks, the winner’s name, phone number, email and address will be sent in a password protected document to Wickes and they will be responsible for sending the prizes out to all winners.

·      Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and no cash alternative will be offered.

·      Prize is subject to availability.

·      The prize excludes anything not expressly listed above.

·      Once confirmed, any changes including but not limited to name changes, date changes and route changes will be at the prize winner’s expense.

·      The Wickes gift cards will be sent to the winner via post directly from Wickes or their selected prize provider. These gift cards will initially have a value of £0 credit. Once the winner has received the gift cards, they must confirm receipt of the gift cards via email with the Wickes member of staff they have been liaising with. Once confirmed, each gift card will then be topped up with the relevant credit listed above by a Wickes member of staff.

·      The Wickes gift card cannot be used online and must be spent in person in a Wickes store.

·      Wickes reserve the right to substitute the Prize with one of equal or greater value at any time.

·      Any changes to the prize will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by Wickes.

·      Wickes will aim to get prizes to winners within 28 working days from the date suitable ID and proof of address is provided to Bauer Media. However, due to potential unforeseen circumstances there may be delays and therefore deliveries may take longer.

Wickes Gift Card Terms & Conditions:

·      Wickes gift cards (“gift cards”) are issued by Wickes Building Supplies Limited, (Company number 1840419) whose registered office is Vision House, 19 Colonial Way, Watford, WD24 4JL.

·      Wickes gift cards can be presented at any Wickes store in the United Kingdom in full or part payment for goods (excluding gift cards purchases or gift card top up) at any time whilst the card is valid. No cash change will be given following the use of the card, but any outstanding balance will remain on the card and can be used against future purchases.

·      Gift cards cannot be used for on-line, telephone purchases or mail order purchases.

·      Gift cards cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged for cash, except in accordance with your legal rights.

·      Gift cards cannot be used for the following purchases:

o  Tool Hire

o  Any products sold in Wickes in store concessions

o  Specialist Installations

o  Paying for or paying off any outstanding Wickes financial loans for Kitchens or Bathrooms.

·      Wickes reserves the right to refuse to accept a gift card which it deems to have been tampered with, duplicated, damaged or which is otherwise suspected of being used for fraudulent purposes.

·      You can top up your Wickes gift card by going to your local store. The minimum amount required to top up is £10 and the maximum amount that can be loaded at any one time is £500. The maximum value that can be held on a Wickes gift card at any time is £2,500. E-gift cards cannot be topped up.

·      Please note that gift card limits may differ, please check with your gift card provider for details.

·      Customers must be present with the gift card at the point of purchase.

·      If this card remains inactive for 24 months or more it will be cancelled and any balance forfeited. An inactive card is a card which has not been used for any purchase, refund or top up.

·      Customers should treat gift card as cash. Wickes cannot be held liable for Wickes gift cards, once activated, loaded and/or topped up, which are subsequently lost, stolen, damaged or defaced; nor will Wickes be liable for any amounts remaining on such cards.

·      If a gift card is lost or stolen please contact Wickes on 0330 123 4123. In the event that a registered gift card is reported lost or stolen, Wickes may transfer any remaining balance at the time of the lost or stolen card being reported to a new card for the customer.

·      Customers may check their balance at www.showmybalance.com

·      Wickes reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time where it reasonably considers it necessary to do so (e. g. to change the scope of the gift card service, notify of the service's withdrawal, cancellation of a gift card or in the event of circumstances beyond its control). Reasonable notice of such changes will be given where possible.

·      Wickes gift cards are not cheque guarantee, credit or charge cards.

·      By activating and/or redeeming a Wickes gift card the customer accepts and agrees to these terms and conditions. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect your statutory rights.

1.             DATA PROTECTION. Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to a Prize Provider to arrange delivery of the prize. Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. For SMS entries you automatically consent to receive marketing. You may opt out at any time by texting the word STOP to the relevant text shortcode number. If you have opted in to receive marketing communications, then your details will be used in accordance with the information given when you ticked the opt-in box and gave your consent. 2.           INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs, video footage, and other information, which you have submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you any remuneration therefore and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize if applicable. We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

3.           MISCELLANEOUS.

 

·      Entries which do not comply with these Terms or the General Competition Terms and Conditions will not be accepted and any entries may be disqualified if we have any reason to suspect that there is a breach of, or non-compliance with, these Terms.

·      Where a competition mechanic involves the answering of questions, the correct answers to questions must match our answers to win (or be sufficiently close in our sole reasonable opinion) to be acceptable. In the event of any dispute about any answers given and whether they are correct, we reserve the right to amend what we deem a correct answer, however we are not obliged to, and our decision in either case is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

·      We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.

·      You are responsible for all costs of entry and where necessary, obtaining the bill payer’s permission. Please refer to your tariff with your network provider for information about charges you may incur for entry into our competitions via any SMS or phone call entry route.

·      We accept no liability for network, technical or signal errors, issues or failures experienced by entrants when entering the competition or at any stage during the mechanic of the competition.

·      Whilst on-air, you must not make any inappropriate, profane, indecent, harmful or offensive statements. If you do so we reserve the right to take you off-air immediately and disqualify you from the competition. You may be also disqualified from the competition at any time if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners. Any prize already won may be withdrawn and re-awarded to another entrant.

·      As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition or any element of the Prize.

 

We may cancel, end or suspend the Competition where we are required to do so in circumstances outside our control. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any stage during the Competition if such amendment is necessary to facilitate the administration of the Competition.
