HMRC

I thought that DVLA was the most dysfunctionsl Governemt office but HMRC beats that.Following a recent code change I have now paid £5k over HMRC's statement of tax due for this tax year. Have given up trying to resolve by phone and requested a review but will take at least 30 working days. Hopeless.

Consider yourself very lucky if it is 30 days.

I made a complaint about a very straightforward issue on 28th March this year and it's still "in progress" according to my personal tax account.

  • I've found their chat to be superb. They've taxed me to heavens for 2 months when I changed jobs (they've thought I have two jobs), no one over the phone call managed to fix but quick chat online and my tax code was fixed in 5 mins, may be worth trying!
