Ha! I did it. I've finally sussed how to start a thread, & I hope i've done it in the right place.
Well, these are mine - what are yours?
2008 financial targets:
1. pay mortgage & bills each month (by the end of each month - no more late payment charges)
2. clear council tax arrears (approx £400, was approx £750 last year)
3. clear debenhams and argos cards (approx £700 total)
4. reclaim bank & credit card charges (awaiting 14th jan...)
5. increase income - earn an average of £1/day additional income (£365 per year)
6. open esaver account - pay in additional income (cashback, co-op divi chq, earnings from crafts/paintings sales, ebay/amazon/preloved sales, website affiliate commission)
7. open ISA, pay £10 month minimum
8. follow up tax credits complaint and claim expenses & compensation
9. keep better control by doing weekly budget updates - sat mornings
10. Quit smoking - save £839.50 (365 days @ £2.30/day) - I haven't really thought this one through properly but I want to make myself a "smoking costs" calender to put on the wall and each day I smoke I lose £2.30 from my £839.50 annual figure.

My target is to make enough money from self-employment so that I don't have to have an actual 'job'. Then I can stay home and have cups of tea and biscuits in front of the Dave channel/hang around here on the net all day.

My goals for 2008.....
I have 2 debts that are within reach of paying off. Hoping to have rid of them before 2009.
I would LOVE to get under £30,000 but I think that might be stretching it a bit far unfortunately..
Good luck everyone :TIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Get rid of all my credit card debt this year (about £4K left)
Pay everything on time!
Put £30 away every month into an ISA
Have a damn good holiday in Beverly Hills without adding anything to my debts!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
become debt free [about £7,000] (other than the mortgage)
not take on any new debts (not as mad as it sounds - I used to think, wow, I've paid x debt off, not considering that I'd built up y debt in the meantime!)
pay back what I 'owe' myself to my savings accounts [£1,150]
start my 'emergency' fund (this won't be until the end of the year I don't think, but once this is done)
overpay my mortgage (this is likely to be one for 2009 though)
That's it!0 -
Keep my spending diary up to date.
Not accrue any more debt.
Pay off a large chunk of my cc.
Particpate in Batgirls #10 a day challenge and keep to my food budget challenge.
Happy New Year everyone xx0
