Selling Old Laptop and Other Questions

Hi all,
I hope you all had a fab Xmas and got all the presents you wanted!
I'm selling an old laptop. It still works but I am selling it as "parts only". Is there anything I need to look out for? Any new scams going round? I sold one about six years ago and had no issues so hoping for something similar. What would be the cheapest but recorded way to send it?
Eons ago, I used to get the x% off FVF offers which then stopped. I was promised they would restart at Xmas but to no avail. Did anyone else get these offers again? I know some people said open a new account but I CBA. I've not listed for months and months and months but still nothing.
I had a few other bits and pieces I wanted to get rid of but I am just going to take it to the charity shop I think.
Thanks for your help.

just make sure you list in the right category, ie parts, not as a laptop. Fill our item specifics to show this is being sold for parts and be cautious with your description, just repeat mentions of ‘for parts’.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've listed it with 6 mentions of PARTS ONLY. Someone messaged me and asked if it worked 5 times but I kept saying it is for parts only. I think it works but the charger broke and the laptop was a bit slow so I got a new one and I can't remember to be honest.
Thanks again for your help and the other poster too. Best wishes for 2025!

It started last October, but bear in mind whilst there is no FvF's or Regulatory fee, you still pay for optional upgrade extras such as the following:
Setting a Reserve 4%
Subtitle £2
Any promotional bolt ons you may add
If item sold internationally there is a 3% fee
Special duration of listings eg 1 and 3 day - 35p
Second category 35p
Think thats it, although brain isn't fully functioning yet as need another coffee!!

Also bear in mind there are new rules about when they release the funds to you From next month you get paid after delivery

Thank you for your tips about making it clear it is for parts only. I've had so many "leading" questions where the possible buyer is trying to get me to say I am selling it in working condition. I'm just repeatedly saying it is for parts only and then they go all quiet.
It was working the last time I used it but I don't want the hassle if it stops working after a few months and they put in a claim.0
