New flights released now?

Hi guys
I heard that a lot of new flights get released in Jan, so it can be a good time to book for the year ahead.
We are planning to go to San Francisco to see relatives in May/June and thought it might be an idea to book now. I've heard something about Ricard Branson having a new company for flights - any truth?
Anyone know when the flight companies release these dates or have I misse out so soon?!
Cheers

I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.

there is going to be a virgin america, but it is for internal flights to the USA..
as for flights may/june time.. just keep checking and see what comes up... offers (as in economy restricted tickets) get released whenever the airlines see fit....0 -
There already is Virgin America. They've been operational for a few months now and will give JetBlue a run for their money.

I have been looking into flights to san fran and las vegas over the past month - we want to go in September. The cheapest we have seen is for 530 with Virgin (BA priced similar , but we want virgin flying miles)
The price does seem to fluctuate over a few days! Some times it has been 650+
Have you got an idea of what price you are willing to pay? We have kind of settled on the 500 mark as there seems to be no sign of a sale for dates past March!0 -
Scheduled flights go on sale 330 days before travel so this summer has been on sale for a few months now. There is a BA sale on at the moment but only for flights up to Easter, Virgin are sure to follow. May/June, so long as you avoid the Bank Holidays, is not peak time and you ought to check out consolidators such as airline network and trailfinders. If at all possible, get a direct flight, it may cost £30 more but its worth it, changing planes in the US is a hassle, there is absolutely no service on internal flights and the International Terminal at San Francisco is one of the better places to arrive in.0
