Asda cards appear to be included in the HSBC network so you'll need to avoid any bank in that group.

So look for Barclays, Lloyds, Natwest, RBS, Santander, Co-op.  There are others but these are the main ones.

Do ensure you do apply for a lot of cards - pick your best option and apply for that.  If you're application is declined wait 2 - 3 months minimum and try another.

Meanwhile check your credit history for any issues - CCJs, lots of credit available (overdrafts, phone contracts etc) and tidy things up to improve your chances.

There is a post on here about JaJa cards, you might need a money transfer card for this

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Not sure where you're getting this from? They're currently issued by Jaja. They were previously issued by Creation. Never had anything to do with HSBC AFAIK.

HSBC is HSBC UK, First Direct, M&S Bank and pre-2021 JLFS 'Partnership' cards.
