Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me-I think I have made an expensive mistake.
We have just returned from the US where I bought a couple of PS2 games for our new PS" including HSM2 Singstar.
We went to play one yesterday, and they dont work! It didnt even cross my mind that there might be a problemm although I know that DVDs can only play in their own region.
Anyway, does anyone know if there is a simple way I can get them to play? I dont want to do anything that will invalidate the warranty on the PS2 as it is new.
Thanks in advance!

Not unless you got it chipped which would void your warranty.
There is https://www.swapmagic3.com which I've read works really well but whether it actually does I don't know.0 -
sorry, what do you mean-get the console chipped or the game? and what does 'chipped' mean?

The console. But I'm fairly sure its illegal, voids your warranty and its only something you'd consider if you were really experienced!0

Its illegal to chip a PS2 and the discussion isnt allowed on MSE. However, it should work on a tv that is NTSC compatible.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

The games won't. A PS2 purchased in the UK is locked to the PAL format. One of the reasons is to stop people importing cheaper games from abroad so they wont work even if the TV is NTSC compatible.0 -
I dont think the games will play on the PS2 regardless of the TV. When I put the discs in the console, nothing happens, ie they dont spin round or even get recognised. Try taking them to game for a trade in or a swap.. You might get the same games for a few quid rather than having to buy them at full price again.0
