Seven Week Countdown

In just over seven weeks I will be going on an amazing holiday to New Zealand and Singapore. Between now and then I seriously need to get my backside in gear to achieve several things: firstly, to reduce my weight as I am uncomfortable and none of my clothes fit well. I want to feel fitter and more able whilst we are away. Secondly, I’d like to get my food spending under a little more control and this will also coincide with running the freezer down so there is less in it when we are away. There are lots of items in the freezer that need using up so I would like to have a big blitz and focus on eating what we have instead of buying more. I’m on a decluttering mission too. In January alone I’d like to declutter 50 items out of the house. So this is a seven week diary to help me stay focused and keep on track of all my achievements.

Have a wonderful time. I'm just back from 3.5 weeks, mainly Thailand (work) but a long weekend in Singapore with friends who took us for a great walk one morning Macritchie trek 12 km 🤟🏼✨ Hike Trail - Singapore, Central Region | Pacer as my colleague had never been to Singapore before we also did the flyer. Best of luck, @tjp70.  I’ll look forward to your trip reports.  I’ve never been out of the airport in Singapore, but New Zealand was lovely and well worth a visit.  Where are you going in NZ?  In 2018, we visited Auckland, Hobbiton, Rotorua, the Bay of Islands and Wellington, where we did the Weita Workshop tour.

tjp70 Okies first buy or use a smaller plate, sounds daft but it works ,drink more water especially before a meal. list the things in order of what's most important to you losing some weight or losing just and clutter in your house

Re spending just take enough with you when you go out in cash, no card at all.

Look in the fridge freezer before you shop and just what you need to buy not what you see .

Definitely shop by essentials not just because you see it and are tempted
List you shopping and literally just streetch the food you have before you buy more
I've noticed even on TV there are adverts telling you to shop less.
Do you really need those 'just in case' things

NO you don't because in less than 50 days you will not be eating them you will be on your way to NZ So concentrate on needs not wants you doo't need the extra weight, think before you eat.

You will be going to a place on the other side of the world and you have 7 weeks to think about how you want to be .

Eat less and walk more ,sound a bit ruthless but it really does work

I hope you have a fabulous time and enjoy every minute, but TODAY is the day you take yourself in hand ,not tomorrow or New Years Day  or Wednesday week, but today THIS morning in fact :)

Golly sorry if I sound  bit harsh but I'm really trying to get you motivated :)

    Hi Jackie.

Thank you for all the advice. I had forgotten about serving up on a smaller plate. I'll certainly be doing that again. Your comments weren’t ruthless, they are realistic and very motivating. I'm hoping you'll pop back and keep me on track. We've been away, returned home last night so I have started today.

    Hi Pip,

    Thank you for popping by.

We are flying into Auckland, driving down the North Island staying at Rotorua & Wellington. Taking the ferry to the South island and driving to Kaikoura, Greymouth, Franz Josef, Wanaka, Queenstown, Lake Tekapo & Christchurch. Don't shoot me for saying this but we haven't watched LOTR or The Hobbit so we aren't going to Hobbiton.

I went out for a walk in the wind and rain this morning so that's done. I could do with finding some gentle pilates YT videos because it would be good to get a bit more supple.

I've listed an item on ebay and also decluttered one item.

Dinner tonight will be roast chicken and left over vegetables. Back to work tomorrow.

    Morning.

A busy work day yesterday but I still
managed to go for a walk, one item listed on eBay and another item leaving the house.

Sadly not a NSD yesterday as I had to buy a new phone. I’ve been saving for it for months so the money is in my account ready.

Morning weigh in shows 2lbs down!

Today I have to start looking at our tax returns. Ugh. Also having my hair cut so no NSD today either.
