Hello! Subscribed to your diary

On pet meds I order flea and worm for our two cats from VioVet (through Quidco for cashback ofc!). It's about £35 every 4 months or so, then I save monthly into a virtual pot in my linked saving account for other costs like insurance excess. Overall that seems to work out the most cost effective :)
    Choose kind:)

    Weekly update.

I will hopefully be posting more often soon. Life's just been very busy lately and when I've had down time I've been to exhausted to post.
Finding the end of this month really difficult.
Note to self do not use the option to be paid December wage before Xmas next year.
[The following contains life drama feel free to skip]
A lot less Drama this past week.
I managed to get my Ex to change the car that was registered to my address, although I did have to threaten to contact the police in order to get him to do it, If u asked me 6 months ago I would not have been able to describe a scenario that would make me threaten him with the police, but I did. I took 2 days after work to pack all of his valuables that were still it my house. But I did and they're gone. 100% of his belongings are now gone. The only stuff that's left is the few bits and pieces that belong to both of us that I agreed he could take.
    [END of life drama]

Worked 16 hours overtime last week.
    Spending.

    Groceries (Mr. A Mr. L Mr T and Mr. M) £83.65
    Tea/Coffee with friend £3.70
    McDs £7.59

Quite a bit of spending this week. I really need to figure out what's going on with my Grocery spend. I really thought I would be able to keep it under £50 for the month considering what I had in my freezer. But everytime I ran out of bread or milk I would find that I needed other bits and pieces. But this week I have no idea what happened.
My only day off was filled with visiting the Community Gardens I volunteer at to catch up with what's been going on over my Xmas absence, I was shocked by the amount of progress. And late lunch/Coffee with my friend.
I am definitely going to look into my pet spend and the insurance, I have never needed to make a claim. Very lucky. And shudder to think how much I have paid in premiums.

Had dinner at my Mums tonight. Rescued 2 servings of stewed beef that was heading for the food waste and a tub of potatoes.

Question. When your Mum invites you for dinner and you know that her financial position is worse than yours should you give her money for the food you eat? What do you do if you offer and she refuses?

    Thanks you for following along.

    ..........
    [END of life drama]
I read that as the end of all life's drama's :), but I think you mean that's the end of reporting them for this week :)

With pet insurance, a friend of mine had a drama with her cat and had to have multiple ops which cost in the thousands.  I have around £6,000 on my cat's insurance - its a just in case so although I'm hoping never to use it, its there just in case.

I think mum's like to help their daughter's.  My daughter is in a better financial position than me but I get great pleasure in treating her, same as my mum does to me.  Can you offer to take over a dinner as a kind of swap another time, or invite her to yours?
