Will sandwiches be alright for next day?

I'm going away for a couple of days and I wondered if I make sandwiches on the Tuesday morning and put them in tin foil in a tupperware box, will they be ok to eat on the Wednesday lunchtime?  Unfortunately I won't be able to keep them refrigerated.

Can you at least keep them somewhat cold?  Like in the car or something??  or add a little ice pack??

I'd avoid something that might obviously be a problem - egg mayo, tuna mayo etc.  And go for something that lasts well - ham and cheese, beef and mustard.  Lettuce might wilt, tomatoes could add sogginess (slice and shake out the wet seed bit).  Or go for something that doesn't need refrigeration at all - peanut butter and jam/banana or my dad's favourite - pb and raisins.

Don't forget that a cold drink with it will keep it chilled.  If you have a plastic bottle 2/3 full of water you could freeze that and tuck in with the sarnie but wrap the lot in a teatowel to avoid melt drips.

Something like cheese butties would be fine, wrap them well. You could always freeze them although for that long I probably wouldn't. Alternatively take bread and cheese and a knob of butter, that'd be fine too. When I go away in our van, which intentionally doesn't have a fridge, cheese happily stays fine for a week, longer in winter

I’d put them in a small cool bag with an ice pack

Yes. Peanut butter, jam, cheddar, honey (not all in the same sandwich!) should all be OK the next day.

Where will they be kept? My car boot is probably as cold as my fridge.

Otherwise just choose fillings that wont spoil such as brie or charcuterie meats.

How long do you think it is since those butties bought in the supermarket were made.  Just keep them as cool as you can.  Personally I would avoid lettuce & beetroot.  Beetroot & anything very wet is likely to just soak through the bread.  Just exclude as much air as you can when wrapping.

If I was doing it I would be tempted to take the bread / butter / PB or cheese etc etc separately and make the sarnie on the day you were going to eat it - less likely to go soggy
