I have been using chromebooks for years and find they seem to do whatever I want (can't print but that is probably my aged printer)
My desktop is 8 years old and is running Windows 10 - really needs replacing. Has anyone used a Chromebox in place of a desktop? any recommendations / things to look out for etc?

A Chromebox is just a Chromebook in a small computer case. Its basically a desktop Chromebook with a monitor, keyboard and mouse on it.2

one thing I currently have with my desktop is two monitors attached and a browser open in each - can you do this with chrome OS ?0

I looked at Chromeboxes, and they make no sense financially. They seem to cost £500 for a new one.
I would get a cheap N100 box from AliExpress or Amazon, in the price range £75-150. This will come with W11 installed, but there's nothing to stop you installing ChromeOS instead. For the sort of web based computing that ChromeOS involves, a N100 processor should be fine for the foreseeable future.

This sort of thing - £159. I'm sure that you can find a cheaper version on Amazon, and quite a lot cheaper on Ali Express.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?2 -
actually that does look good - agree some of the chromeboxes are rather more than I expected
ETA seems to have everything I need on it1
