    Hello greenglove

I am sorry you are struggling at the moment and that your goal to buy a house seems such a long way into the future. Perhaps it might be easier to focus on getting rid of the debt so that you are only dealing with one issue and then focus on the house deposit once the debt has gone.

I know 2026 seems a long way off but time will pass quickly, especially once the baby is born - congratulations and good luck with the debt busting.

Thank you Cara. One issue at a time sounds completely sensible. Thank you so much for your message, very kind

Feeling a bit more in control today. I get paid next week but have started having to use my credit card for travel to work argh! Have been putting off cycling to work while it has been so cold and icy. Will need to review budget vs actual spend at the end of this month and rejig the budget. Have also had to put some little top up grocery items on credit card so will need to review grocery spend too.

In a bid to stop feeling overwhelmed and be able to live in the now, I have set some 5 year goals. This means they are here and down on paper, but I have plenty of time to get there.

I'm pleased you are feeling more in control today. It's early days so you will find that you need to tweak your budget but you will get there. Great goals to focus on - I've been to Australia and it is fantastic. NZ is on my wishlist.

hello! I haven't posted in a while but wanted to keep track of things here.

    Update from previous post:

    Plata loan £521.98 PAID OFF
    Abound loan £4294.09 £2539 - 3 payments left
    Halifax credit card £1935.64 £1939.64
    Barclaycard credit card £4735.57 £4839.97

    Total debt remaining - £11,487.28 £9319.18

debt-free countdown date remains for December this year - 7 months! Unfortunately the credit card balances haven't gone down, I have reduced the monthly payments on these to minimums for now in order to pay off the abound loan more quickly. Once that is paid off in July, then I can throw every spare penny at the 2 last remaining debts to get them gone.

My partner and I now have a baby! All doing great. Maternity leave fund for my partner is working well so far and going to plan to cover her shortfall in wages. I am working extra hours in a second job to help cover this which is hard, but I just need to keep trying to be super organised with my time to make sure I can do the work, look after myself and make sure I am spending quality time with my family. It will be a busy 7 more months, but I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel and I just cannot wait to be able to live and enjoy my money and my life WITHOUT DEBT!
