Suffolk BS are to launch new issues of their Online and branch/post fixed rate regular savers shortly.

The new accounts shall pay 5% fixed (same as the current issues) but with new maturity dates of 28/2/27.
The branch/postal version is now showing on Suffolk's site :)

Am I right in thinking you can email a copy of the application form to Suffolk?
Yes. I have done so for the past few applications. Best to ask if your ID is OK with them or if they require any further recent documents to accept your application and to update ID held.

Did you send it to the hello@ address or somewhere else? Is the maturity process a faff, given it’s a postal account? This one is otherwise tempting as I’ve just realised it has a higher deposit limit than the online equivalent.
    Yes: Hello@suffolkbuildingsociety....
Maturity; I've not been through a postal/branch maturity yet. But they do give out post paid envelopes regularly. IIRC transfers out may be by BACS; so slow. There may be a way around this by having an easy access account with them to receive maturity funds and then faster payment from there. Someone else here may be better able to comment on this.
Re: Suffolk - I assume you can view the postal account online, e.g balance etc and that it isn't a passbook account as such?

Am I right in thinking that you can send £10 to Suffolk and leave it there (not £10 per month) and that you can still open future issues as you wish? 28.2.27 would work well for me and 5% fixed is the kind of rate that might look good in a few months time, while not being particularly appealing right now.
You have to keep an eye on the T&C's as they vary between issues.  The current branch one (and the immediately previous one) are confusing, but "What happens if I miss a monthly deposit: Your account will remain open until maturity, and you can continue to save monthly" suggests it is OK to make the first £10 deposit and leave it at that.  Staff in branch claimed you must make a deposit of £10 each month, but then backtracked when they read that.

Some of the previous previous versions have a condition that the account will be closed if you miss two payments, and I've had one of mine closed for that reason (but conversely I got the benefit of early access to the funds as the variable interest rate had dropped below acceptable)

You can view it online, but you do get a passbook.

They don't have an online easy access account, and the branch easy access account is 'view only' in online banking.

It appears the only way of speeding the process up is to make sure you give maturity instructions in good time so the payment is processed on the first working day after maturity, or else visit a branch and withdraw cash (but max £1000/day). Branch initiated electronic payments are all next-day.

    Dudley Branch /Post

Asked the q via email and they said..

You cannot manage the accounts online. However, you would be able to view the account to complete any withdrawals you would need to visit one of our branches or send the withdrawal request through the post.

West Brom Reg Saver Iss 7
My account matures 6th Jan and automatically becomes an Access Reg Saver.
Given the fact that they only operate on a branch visit basis I was concerned as I'm nowhere near any branches.
Into that might be useful for others..... I called them today and good news.....they can close the account over the phone when I'm ready
Mine matures on 31/12. I was planning on emptying the Access RS of everything bar £1 online by FP, is that not an option?
When I phoned they checked they had my correct nominated account details so an FP payment could be made.
Suggest you make sure they have your correct details.
