My previous RS was post, but they have upgraded their online system since then (after which it was possible to get the proceeds out online) so it may be that they are now accepting online applications. This may be an answer we don’t have until Saturday.happybagger said:
Re: HRBSjanusd said:are these accounts from them all postal/branch application?
I opened mine by post; I have logged in online and I can view accounts and withdraw, but not open any others.
So I assume it remains branch or postal applications only
In their blurb they stated that the average cost of Christmas is now £1,811 - which may explain Principality going to £150 when all previous seasonal editions have been £125. In some ways, it’s poor that they don’t even allow that average to be achieved.0 -
Same as you, I could not open the email so rang them today to be told I would get the pack in the post. I was also told the user ID would arrive in a second letter not the welcome pack.Bobblehat said:
I had to ring Hanley yesterday because I couldn't open their encrypted Welcome Pack email for my first ever account with them. I passed security but they would not give me my UserID over the phone. They said they will send the Welcome Pack via snail mail with the UserID ... although I'm sure I've seen somewhere that the UserID might arrive separately in a different letter. Guess I'll have to wait and see.Born2Save_3 said:
It's mentioned on the Hanley specific thread from a couple of years ago that it is possible to call, pass security and be given your user id over the phone. I sort of recall doing this in 2023 when I opened my first branch account with them.Gers said:Re- HanleyI'm a patient person, really! Opened the regular saver on 20 Oct. Sent a payment through on 21 Oct using the reference number. On 23 Oct an email gave me a temporary security number. Today I received a letter with my account number - but still no user name!I'll phone on Monday by which time I hope to be less annoyed.Maybe this would work for Scottish BS also. I've found their Aberdeen branch to be very helpful.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.2 -
Thanks for the heads up about the UserID. I'm not in a rush because I know my first payment arrived as I was told so on the phone. I can now make a 2nd payment knowing it has every chance of arriving too.trickydicky14 said:

I also opened a new Newcastle RS earlier this afternoon , as my previous one had matured. I made my first deposit by FP and had an email just after 4pm to confirm my “investment”. £200 indeed showing with today’s date in the new RS. Very impressive.mhoc said:Question regarding Newcastle regular saver please.
My reg saver matured yesterday so I logged on today and the interest was added today 25th.
I opened a new regular saver which showed on the list of accounts straight away.
Then I did an transfer from the matured reg saver to fund the new reg saver and the Monument.
Even though it was an internal transfer these top up amounts are not showing.
Then I closed the old reg saver which is still showing the full total even though I've moved money out of it.
Logged off and logged on to see if the transfers showed and they didnt
Assume it will be Monday before the account updates again???
Its just odd that the new account is on the list straight away but not the transfers.
The withdrawal of the matured funds has yet to arrive in my current account, and I don’t expect this before Monday0 -

Unfortunately Newcastle doesn't process withdrawals at weekends. To avoid a small loss of interest I closed mine of Friday, was able to open and fund a new one straight away. The money arrived to my current account and deposited to Cahoot on the same day.friolento said:

The welcome pack contains a summary box which says that a deposit of between £25 and £300 should be received each calendar month, so I take from that that it is calendar.ForumUser7 said:Is the Hanley EBS TAR10 1 Year Online Smart Saver per calendar month or per account month please? Thank you1 -
Principality BS Current Maturity OptionsThanks to the people who responded to my questions on selecting the Xmas 26 RS as an option. If you have this as a maturity option do you have this account already ?I already have the Xmas26 RS and it was not on my list of maturity options.Interestingly, my options only included the 1 Year Regular Saver Bond Issue 36 and the 6 Month Regular Saver Issue 4. No Xmas26RS. And I already have both 1YRSIss36 and 6MRSIss4 accounts. Seems, for me anyway, PBS are limiting my Xmas26RS numbers at the time of selecting maturity options.0

I wouldn't expect a Christmas RS as a maturity option on any account maturing before the 6th or 7th of November, given maturity options are prepared 14 days in advance (so an account maturing on the 6th could have had its options prepared on the 23rd before the Christmas RS went live/the system could pick it up as an option.)Born2Save_3 said:Principality BS Current Maturity OptionsThanks to the people who responded to my questions on selecting the Xmas 26 RS as an option.
