Or you could try to get two new Christmas savers I guess? Depends if they release it before last year's one matures. Last year the rate was lower (7%) and also the deposit limit (£125) so another RS4 would be preferential, but on the plus side the Christmas one lasts a whole year.RosieRooBear said:
No, you rollover the maturing one to a 6 month RS4 and you can open a Christmas saver separately if they do release one.easyasonetwothree said:
Though they might bring out another Christmas saver which could be worth considering.Hattie627 said:I have a Principality Christmas 2025 RS maturing on 24th October. I'm hoping to do a rollover to the 6 month RS (issue 4). I can't remember when the online maturity options menu normally appears, possibly 14 days before maturity (which would be tomorrow). Can anyone remember if it's 14 days or 7 days?0 -
Or they could do what they did in 2023 and launch a Maturity Winter Saver instead, only open to the holders of maturing Christmas Regular Savers. If they closed the loophole that allowed those without a qualifying account to apply and keep it, applying for it as a rollover would be the only option.clairec666 said:

Anyone know if there’s a way to hide a closed/empty account in the app? Or whether it would disappear from the app if I logged into the website and hid it there? My closed accounts don't show in the app. I have hidden them online - don't know whether this is a pre-req but I doubt it is.AFAIK, empty accounts will always show in the app. You'd have to close them to make them disappear from view.

The Scottish Building Society Passbook seems to be taking a while to arrive in the post. I can see that my cheques has been cashed and Customer Services said it has been posted. Guess it's coming slow mail.0

Coming with Royal Mail even the Id and the pass key to go on line for the first time. Rs opened and funded last week on Wednesday, passbook arrived on Saturday but still waiting to have access on line. I called them (and they have been really nice, tbh) to make sure that my deposit had landed safely on the account1 -
I said closed/empty as I had requested a withdrawal for the full balance - historically this has prompted a secure message from Mon BS saying that they have closed the account for that reason and that the funds will be in the nominated account by the end of the day. I’ll dig out my login details if the account doesn’t disappear with tomorrow’s refresh and see if there is anything there.friolento said:Kim_13 said:Monmouthshire

The app looks as though it doesn’t save a nominated account - potentially handy come next summer as the proceeds could be split across multiple current accounts and mean no money shuffling, only onward distribution.0 -
I also have the Principality Christmas savers maturing on the 24th. Useful for funding the end of the month SOs.
But I also have Principality issue 35s - for OH and myself maturing on the 31st.
These will fund the November standing orders which mostly seem to be going out on November 3rd this year - assuming that the maturing funds will arrive overnight on November 1st but will they show on my Nationwide current account as its a Saturday ... ???
- it might be a nail biting weekend
If my nerve does not hold there is Plan B - I've still got some left in leek BS that needs transferring out.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
SCOTTISH BUILDING SOCIETY
I had a courtesy call from them ..just now.
I took the opportunity to interrogate the lady regarding the rumoured online version:
She confirmed it is planned
Also confirmed same rate
Also confirmed.. you can't hold both ..

Opened and funded Monday by debit card, but have since received an email from them titled you still have time. Seems there was a glitch and I now have this (sorry for the link, the choose files option didn’t add the screenshot when I selected it from my photos, tried several times.)

I suspect it happened as it seemed to send me back a page when I downloaded the summary sheet (after which I just ticked the rest off without reading them to avoid any further problems.) Any views on whether I can press cancel safely? It shouldn’t affect my funded account surely, but a part of me wonders whether I should just let the ‘application’ time out.Strangely the name on one is my name as it appears for COP purposes, and the other is title, initials, surname.0 -
I get paid the week after next so any time after that is fine 😂soulsaver said:SCOTTISH BUILDING SOCIETY
