Just google ‘Scottish Building Society Freepost Address’ and it will show in the answer. Same license number as the prepaid envelope.Chaykin said:Scottish BS
Going to apply for their RS via post - got my printed & completed form, photocopy of driving licence, & cheque ready. Now just to decide whether to pay for a stamp or ask them to post me a pre-paid envelope.
For people saying to use a Freepost licence number/address - how do you do that? Any successes with that approach? According to the below from Royal Mail handwriting is not allowed since 30th of March 2015 unless business uses "Freepost NAME" service - and Scottish BS seems not to have that as they use a licence number? https://www.royalmail.com/sites/royalmail.com/files/2022-09/response-services-user-guide_september-2022.pdf0 -
And just handwrite it onto a blank envelope, seal & put in a post box without a stamp? Just asking as, according to Royal Mail rules linked before, handwriting Freepost licence numbers is technically no longer allowed. Happy to risk it once someone confirms this approach worked for them with opening this account.UKX69 said:

You can close and reopen Lloyds RS' on the same day: the T&Cs aren't enforced.kermchem said:My understanding is that the only difference between the Progressive Rainy Day issue 3 / issue 4 problem and the regular savers from Lloyds Bank (x 2) and Nationwide is that in living memory Lloyds and Nationwide have not brought out a new issue with a higher interest rate.
All three do not allow you to close an issue and open a new one until the 12 months are up (12 months plus a day for Nationwide).Meanwhile, Progressive RD RS issue 4 opened last night, ID no issue.0 -
With authenticator extension in Firefox installed, how does PBS login code get put into it to generate another code using a device other than a phone?janusd said:
if it helps, I use an authenticator extension in Firefox - already had it installed as I need it for other site logins (though none financial other than PBS)... there will likely be alternate extensions if you use another browser.bristolleedsfan said:Has anyone who does not have a device that can do apps managed to use Google Authenticator to login to Progressive with PC/Laptop ?0 -
When I spoke to SBS earlier this afternoon and asked if I could send them the cheque by handwriting their freepost address the lady said no, and that she would send me a prepaid envelope.Chaykin said:

You are not being selected for special treatment. I got the same email.Dugal said:
I sent off my form, copy of driving licence and cheque. They have just been in touch asking for a copy of a bank statement of my nominated bank account, just emailed a copy. Not sure if I misread the form or I have been selected for special treatment.Chaykin said:Scottish BS

I had sent the application form with copy of my driving licence, and my cheque was written on the same nominated personal account, payable to myself.
The received email said they could not verify my account. Go figure!
I have now sent a downloaded PDF of my bank statement by email to the Scottish B.S.
Not too hard to do. Hopefully that’ll allow the account to be opened.Digital Payback

I think you misread the form, you need to select a document from list A and from list B.Dugal said:

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0
