Well it doesn't matter which route I take, existing customer or not, (I am, and they have recent ID), computer, app, or browser, I haven't found a way of either opening an account online, or registering for online accounts, without needing a camera to do a 'selfie'. If anyone does know a way, please let me know.0

I've sent them a message and I'll see what they say, it just keeps going round in circles for me.
I've tried opening the easy access saver but struggling with that too.
Never mind, good luck to everybody else 🤞0 -

I have tried applying as a new customer on Android phone App and also using Chrome on my laptop.
On both I keep getting...You haven't selected a product yet
It looks like you don't have any open accounts with us. In order to register for our online services you need to select a savings account to open.
...even though I did select the product!
Anyone had this and got past it?
Ye olde vicious circle!1 -

The £500 per month is a tempter though.0 -
Furness…..on an iPad and I’ve got the same going around in circles ‘no product selected’ issue.0

where_are_we said:Furness Xmas RS2 - COP failed - I continued anyway - £500 has left my account but message came up transaction failed. Has any one else had a problem funding above account? I have overridden COP on other occasions and the transaction still went through.1

I've managed to open a Furness Xmas as a new customer using a chromebook. It took a long time!
The worst bit was trying to take a scan of my passport. It couldn't find "the document" repeatedly, and then suddenly it could, and it worked.
And it doesn't like you to smile when it's taking a selfie. You get told off.1 -

They insist on it if you want to use their online system, even if you don't want to ever use an app or a mobile.
I ended up opening an account in branch instead - I asked why this was the case, the answer I got was "it just is. If you want to access your account online you'll need something with a camera to set it up". And yes, even if you have already provided ID in person.
Though in your case @SJMALBA I'm not sure how you could even open in branch as you'll need physical photo ID for that
A few weeks later they sent me a code which I inputted into their online portal to activate it without needing to provide further ID or use my phone's camera, all I needed was the activation code and a OTP.
