Available for opening now.I've noticed a error in the account details:What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 deposit?I've emailed Furness. If you open the account with maximum opening deposit of £500 and deposit the maximum monthly deposit of £500 on the first day of each month, after 12 months you would have £6173.39
This figure is for illustration purposes and is based on no withdrawals or changes in interest rate within the 12 month period.

I'm having trouble with the Furness application, I started the application on my laptop for the 5.25% then had to switch to my mobile for verification which didn't take long but on the final page it asked me to confirm - that I'm setting up a 4.75% account. Anyone else manage this application successfully yet?0

(Potential online applicant, first-time customer. without photo ID or a smartphone)
Probably a dumb question, but, just to confirm, I take it that Furness BS insist upon photo ID, given the following:
and
Or is this only required, in practice, if they can't verify you with 'digital checks' (as most banks/building societies typically do, IME)?0 -
Re: Furness online
They insist on it if you want to use their online system, even if you don't want to ever use an app or a mobile.
I ended up opening an account in branch instead - I asked why this was the case, the answer I got was "it just is. If you want to access your account online you'll need something with a camera to set it up". And yes, even if you have already provided ID in person.
Though in your case @SJMALBA I'm not sure how you could even open in branch as you'll need physical photo ID for that2 -

Furness Xmas RS2 @5.25% - you can open it online without a smartphone. Going online for 2FA - you have the choice of getting the code sent to your mobile or email so no need for a phone. Application for a Furness customer reasonably quick. Took a minute or two for account number to come up online and to email address, so able to fund it almost immediately. One withdrawal makes it doable. Remember to fund it every month with at least £1. Looks like you can make 13 payments of £500.

Furness Xmas RS2 - COP failed - I continued anyway - £500 has left my account but message came up transaction failed. Has any one else had a problem funding above account? I have overridden COP on other occasions and the transaction still went through.
