I closed my Coventry seasonal RS today due to the rate dropping below my threshold and wanted to use the funds for other RS's anyway. Surprised to see that I seem to have only got a two-week penalty on interest instead of a full month. Not complaining

I shan't call them as I don't want to give Monmouthshire cause to look too closely at the open accounts I have with them!!!Hattie627 said:
Ditto. Posted application form plus cheque last Wed am and nothing showing on app so far. Postal service where I am is not particularly reliable. I will phone Monmouthshire if nothing showing by midweek.s71hj said:Re Monmouthshire branch exclusive RS, still nothing showing for me and my wife in the App. Posted forms last Wed am and based on others experience was hoping for something by now.1 -
Thanks, but I don't have a smart phone, so My Accounts only for me (and no App Exclusive RS eithergt94sss2 said:
No need to call them. If they have opened the account, it will appear in their app. You can then use the account number to add it to My Accounts.SJMALBA said:Mon BS Branch Exclusive RS
Posted my application (with cheque), 1st class, circa midday on Thursday; phoned this morning, and found out that it arrived, and the account was opened, Saturday; I was given the account number, added it to 'My Accounts', and when I checked this evening, the account was there, showing the deposit dated 30th.

I've not been with either for a while due to HSBC mainly doing 5%, as for First Direct I have commitment issues so best not to start then get penalties, but I've successfully completed First Direct in the past a few timesallegro120 said:
You can cancel HSBC SO too. It's just First Direct, I can't think of any other RS that requires SO.jameseonline said:NatWest and RBS don't have a minimum amount to fund every month, I've never had standing orders setup for either, just manually paid in from NatWest and RBS current accounts.
Think the only standing orders setup I've had before are HSBC, First Direct & TSB, TSB being 1 you can get rid of but the other 2 you have to keep unless closing but then you also don't earn the interest rate etc0 -
There should be no penalty for closing due to the rate drop.roked said:I closed my Coventry seasonal RS today due to the rate dropping below my threshold and wanted to use the funds for other RS's anyway. Yes it appears to be genuine.Slinky said:I've just tried logging in to Progressive to check my SO has arrived today, and after putting in my password it's come up with a Salesforce page asking me to change my password. Never had this before, I've abandoned the login. Is this genuine?
It did the same to me a week or so ago, I changed my password and all is good.
I have worked my entire life working in IT, and I was surprised that they use Salesforce for authentication it makes no sense, but then I thought this is the only institution to stop using SMS message 2FA and swap to WhatsApp ....
They haven't stopped using SMS messages
Both take equally as long to come through
Online services don't appear to run 24 hrs a day0 -
Any authenticator works but Salesforce is already open when you open the phone and it only requires a swipe to proceedmasonic said:
They are using Salesforce to power the online banking site. It is probably just that the password change is poorly enforced. You may get nagged again during your next login session.Slinky said:Well that's odd. Having abandoned the login attempt without changing the password, when I went back to try and login again, the account page was already open without me changing the password. Feels a tad dodgy.0 -

It's entirely possible the forms haven't been delivered yet, particularly if you used second class/freepost/reply paid service. Royal Mail ask for 10 postage days to pass before they'll entertain that an item was delayed or lost.Hattie627 said:

Also entirely possible Monmouthshire are now backed up with postal applications.
Not suitable if you want to open by phone app or post0 -
