My wife seems to have had a "Saver plus issue 2" appear but no balance or transactions. Is this what it goes under?Bridlington1 said:
There's a chance they could do it on Saturday but I'd imagine they may be getting rather a lot of applications at present. Just received a nice orange passbook for the account too.s71hj said:
I posted applications for me and my wife Wed and had hoped for the same but nothing showing yet.. I guess it will be Monday now, fingers crossedjanusdesign said:for those thinking of applying for the Monmouthshire BS Branch Exclusive Regular Saver (Issue 1) by mail, just to let you know that I posted the completed application form 1st Class, along with a cheque, at 5pm on Wednesday and the account has just been added to the app this morning (Friday) - that's quicker than I expected... i've manually added the account to the MonBS online... many thanks to @Bridlington1 for mentioning the postal option and linking to the pdf.
the balance is still zero, so I guess the cheque won't clear now until next week and assume the opening date will be when its cleared rather than received - if that's the case, it should count as next month's deposit.0 -

I seem to recall this happened with their Coronation RS (launched in 2023) which stated interest would be paid on 31/3/24 in online banking. In my case interest wasn't paid in March and was instead paid when I closed the account in April 2024.rallycurve said:Monmouthshire BS
Both the regular saver issue 8 (6%) and app/branch exclusive regular saver issue 1 (7%) pay interest at the end of the term according to the T&Cs:- Interest is calculated daily and paid at the end of the 12 month term.

Is this an error on the online system and the payment will be credited at the end of the term as per the t&c?
This will be important for many as it will fall in a different tax year as planned!
Also noticed that there is another more general regular saver terms and conditions where it states:- The interest for this account is variable, calculated daily and paid once a year after 31 March.
Hoping this is only an error in the online system! Does anyone have past experience with this BS and can confirm what will happen with the interest payment?
And with one or both of last year's 7/8% offerings. Clarified with them that it was end of term

Mine was quick too, opened on 3rd December. I've sent it to a small branch instead of head office.Kim_13 said:
Maybe for later applications, but mine was signed 24th November and opened 5th December.HHUK said:

I posted mine on Wed am (in time for uplift later that day at 6pm) but with second class stamp. Nothing showing on the app yet to suggest account open. Looks like I have missed out on August. Oh well, some you win, some you lose
Similar for me. I seem to recollect that when Monmouthshire's Christmas RS was the stand out account a few years ago they were inundated, which led to processing delays, and they treated applications as having been received the day after the date of the signature and/or cheque. Hoping they may do the same again, but que sera, sera.0 -
MonBS Branch Exclusive
Two application forms + cheques sent by post on Wednesday 1st Class. Both accounts now showing in respective apps, alongside the App Exclusives. Hopefully they'll backdate the deposit so they count as August but either way I'm happy.
Thanks again @Bridlington13 -
yep same here now - the £500 has appeared in the account.Chaykin said:I have posted an application form and, although hesitant originally, also a cheque for £500.00 to MonBS head office in Newport (~200 miles by road from where I live) for their Branch Exclusive Regular Saver at around 6:00 PM on Wednesday night via 1st Class using a postbox with last collection at 7:00 PM. The account appeared on their app today at around 11:00 AM with a balance of £0.00. When I checked the app later in the day - around 6:30 PM - the £500.00 is now showing as in with a description "Cheque Receipt". Happy days! Impressed at the speed.Another £500.00 going in on Monday via bank transfer.

wrt the "Saver plus issue 2" - any chance this is an old account your wife opened years ago ? i've got a "Regular Saver Issue 2" showing in the app (not online) that was an account I opened a couple of years ago, never funded and was told by MBS was closed... if so, just ignore it.0 -
Probably. In my obsessive checking I'm maybe seeing something that in fact was always there. It appears on a pdf if you Google it as a 2019 accountjanusdesign said:

For those who have a Principality Account maturing on the 13/09/25, the maturity options are now showing on their website.
The choices include the new Issue 4 of their 6 month RS.23 -
Sorry do you mean that you've clarified with them on their current RS's offered or last years? Because if interest is indeed paid 31/03 then I suspect it will have tax implications for many so may have to rethinkdrphila said:Bridlington1 said:

Maturity instructions submitted. Let's see how many Issue 4s I can accrue!gt94sss2 said:For those who have a Principality Account maturing on the 13/09/25, the maturity options are now showing on their website.
The choices include the new Issue 4 of their 6 month RS.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?2 -
Yes I also have the maturity options show up this morning. Nice new issue 4 set up for the 13th.gt94sss2 said:For those who have a Principality Account maturing on the 13/09/25, the maturity options are now showing on their website.
The choices include the new Issue 4 of their 6 month RS.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0
