Oh I don't disagree, it just gives a little more peace of mind.friolento said:
It is instant with many companies. Where one of them isn’t, and I need to make my deposits really urgently, I use the pre-COP method that served me and millions of others well for several decades and just send the money to the sort code, account number, and reference where required, that the companies give you for the new account.OrangeBlueGreen said:Nothing to do with MonBS, but they really need to make the COP system immediate and live. It's not rocket science to work out that customers will want to pay money in when opening accounts.1 -

I had previously uninstalled the app after successfully opening the issue 8 6% RS a few weeks ago. I didn't see the point in keeping the app afterwards. However I have now managed to reinstall the (Android) app and successfully apply for the app exclusive RS.
I have ended up with 4 accounts visible in the app. I did only receive one email confirming the account details and have paid in to this one. Confusingly the email subject is 'Welcome letter for App Registration' so don't dismiss this email.0 -
Like several have reported, finally got the app to work before midday ... and discovered 2 new exclusive RS's opened! Only got welcome message for one.
Decided to ring Mon CS mainly about funding the Exclusive and the Issue 8 but also what to do about the 2nd Exclusive. They answered very quickly ~2 mins. They are aware of the problem and said just fund one Exclusive RS only, the other will disappear eventually! I can fund using faster payment from any of my current accounts and it does take 24 hours to show in the app, 48 hours online. Any nominated account is for withdrawal purposes, so all good!Compiler of the RS League Table.

Is everyone getting Monmouthshire welcome e-mails successfully? Despite no apparently-successful application I have 2 accounts showing in the app, but no emails. The app just was processing pending for a few minutes, until it timed-out. So I don't know which was the first successful one that I should fund 🙄🤷♂️janusdesign said:
same thing occurred here - got 2 new accounts, but only a welcome email for one... ...1 -

Monmouthshire BS App Exclusive Regular Saver - Issue 1 (7%)Nick_C said:...Doesn't seem to be any option in the app to close the second account. Will leave it unfunded, and message them once things have calmed down....
If it's showing in the 'Your Accounts' section of the website, once logged in, you can usually close by viewing the account ('Details') and selecting 'Account Closure' on the left. Not sure if you can add this account to the 'Your Accounts' section if not showing, you usually can with non-app savers.Compiler of the RS League Table.

Update on my Monmouthshire Building Society regular savers.I already had the Regular Saver saver Issue 8 which I opened earlier this month and has the initial £500. As the app was down this morning and as I can get to branch easily I went to open the branch version. Arrived about 10am and despite no appointments supposedly available I was able to see someone almost immediately. The whole process took about 10 minutes. The only difference is that it is no longer possible to pay in money by debit card so currently this account is unfunded. However I can see this account already in the app. I have as others have stated been able to open the app 7% version as well so I now have 3 new Mon regular savers with a potential deposit of £2000 every month. I just need to review things as I opened a Progressive RS at 5.5% only a couple of days ago as well. Worse decisions to have to make in life.1

Only just saw the launch of the MonBS 7% RS.
Had left £1 in an easy access after the 7% and 8% savers matured a year ago.
Downloaded the app. Set it up. Attempted to open the RS. Screen timed out; when I logged back in the account was open. All done inside 10 minutes. Pretty happy!

It's so odd, isn't it? I now have the situation where I have one or two accounts showing online only, one or two on the app only, and one or two on both!Bobblehat said:

Mon Exclusive RS
I was still getting the maintenance message as I have done since last night so deleted the app again, reinstalled it and was able to open the account. It took a few mins for the application to process but then I had the account details and the email shortly thereafter. Will have to do the money shuffle later 🤣
Edit to add: on reinstalling the app today I had to set up as having a new phone after saying I was already a registered user.Save £12k in 2022 #54 reporting for duty0 -
Still stuck at the 2FA screen with no options to pick...
This is after a reinstall. Looks like a phone call required.1
