Have you updated the app?10_66 said:
I haven't got past the system maintenance page over the past 2 hours.WillPS said:For those struggling with the MonBS app, if you persevere through the seemingly endless 'loading animations' and random logouts you will eventually be able to get the account opened. It's incredibly fragile but it will eventually work (took my wife about 40 mins and me about an hour).0 -
Nothing to say you can't (yet!). I have a funny feeling they'll do a Saffron with this.Bob2000 said:Monbs app/branch exclusive Regular Saver 7% £1000/£500
So l have the 12 month RS at 6% £500 per month, Can l apply for this account too?
Also it says on the information section minimum £0 Max £500 (branch) but then goes on to say minimum £50 per month?1 -
Coventry Loyalty Issue 3. At 5% it was never the best rate but it had a prize draw if £100 was deposited so several forumites opened it for this reason.PowerSavingMode said:
Which RS is this, please?flaneurs_lobster said:
Fair enough, I've got £2k+ so think I'll follow @Kim_13 's lead and leave it alone 'till next month.subjecttocontract said:
I only had £100 in the account so the interest payment was small but there was no deduction. So, I assume it's 30 days either side of the interest rate reduction.flaneurs_lobster said:
I don't doubt your experience for a moment but the wording of the rate reduction letter reads somewhat ambiguouslysubjecttocontract said:I closed mine this week without a penalty. If you decide to close your account because of this rate change, you can do so without notice, charge, or loss of interest within 30 days of the effective date.Is that a 30 day window after 1 Sep or a 60 day window, 30 days either side of 1 Sep?
Your closure this week without penalty suggests the latter, although I would have interpreted the wording as meaning the former.

You may feel happy not to have had a letter.OrangeBlueGreen said:
This seems very generous but I'm still not over the previous one. More or less a month later and I've had no letter to confirm it's all open. I notice this is app only though so should hopefully be more straightforward. Do we think they've launched this because of all the issues?Controlthenarrative said:Monmouthshire Building Society

I did eventually get one - tried to login with the user name and password I had originally set (and which had got me at one point to my account dashboard) only to be faced with Password/Username not recognised issue - please register for an online account.
And yes, I do now very much regret trying to re-register - apparently I now have another letter on its way to me and I still can't get past the app screen inviting me to use one of two non-existent options for 2FA.
This has not been the smoothest of on-boarding experiences.£6000 in 20230 -
I had the previous version and couldn't log on after making numerous attempts. I updated it to the new version and still can't log on.WillPS said:

I can confirm the same. After 40 minutes and nine attempts later, I managed to open MonBS App Exclusive Regular Saver (7%). I'm persistent, if not stubborn.WillPS said:For those struggling with the MonBS app, if you persevere through the seemingly endless 'loading animations' and random logouts you will eventually be able to get the account opened. Android App updated, still asking for 2FA but with no choices...
Then goes to Maintenance screen 🤦2 -
I think the magical introduction of flexible ISAs combines rather nicely with this account as I can pull funds out of the various ones I've funded and replace pre April. So thanks Rachel Reeves.mhoc said:Monmouth still have the maintenance message for me.
I've still not had any letters from Monmouthshire regarding the 1st regular saver I opened nearly 4 weeks ago.
I also cant log in online despite having reset my log in details twice recently but I've been putting off ringing.
Yes this monthly limit of £1000 needs a rethink as to where to find without having cashflow issues - basically it means maybe four regular savers with poor savings rates below 5% have to have their monthly deposits reduced to the minimum until they mature or stop funding until they mature.
Yorkshire Christmas savers and Yorkshire esavers come to mind - please can I ask what is the minimum deposit for these please - they only have 2 pay dates left until maturity.
(Already reduced Leek, Stafford and Coventry to the minimum)1 -

I have both now, so you could give it a go... I think the £50 refers to the minimum operating balance.0 -
I think after you open the new account, something about it causes the app to crash into maintenance mode.ThePirates said:Android App updated, still asking for 2FA but with no choices...
