Maybe, but I think they already know the app's flaws and they remain, so if they haven't been ironed out, they're just wasting people's time.masonic said:

I can not understand why on earth they have put another app only account on offer when they know full well what the accessibility issues are with the app.OrangeBlueGreen said:
This seems very generous but I'm still not over the previous one. More or less a month later and I've had no letter to confirm it's all open. I notice this is app only though so should hopefully be more straightforward. Do we think they've launched this because of all the issues?Controlthenarrative said:Monmouthshire Building Society

Crikey. £1500/month in MonBS at 7% potentially.
Might have to make another trip to the border!1 -
Which RS is this, please?flaneurs_lobster said:
Fair enough, I've got £2k+ so think I'll follow @Kim_13 's lead and leave it alone 'till next month.subjecttocontract said:
I only had £100 in the account so the interest payment was small but there was no deduction. So, I assume it's 30 days either side of the interest rate reduction.flaneurs_lobster said:
I don't doubt your experience for a moment but the wording of the rate reduction letter reads somewhat ambiguouslysubjecttocontract said:I closed mine this week without a penalty. If you decide to close your account because of this rate change, you can do so without notice, charge, or loss of interest within 30 days of the effective date.Is that a 30 day window after 1 Sep or a 60 day window, 30 days either side of 1 Sep?
Your closure this week without penalty suggests the latter, although I would have interpreted the wording as meaning the former.

For those struggling with the MonBS app, if you persevere through the seemingly endless 'loading animations' and random logouts you will eventually be able to get the account opened. Make sure you keep the screen active when on the 'application in progress' screen.
It's incredibly fragile but it will eventually work (took my wife about 40 mins and me about an hour).2 -
To answer my own question I can still see the Regular Saver Issue 8 using the website myaccounts.monbs.com online access even after registering to use the Monmouthshire BS phone app.mon3ysav3r said:I am an existing Monmouthshire BS online customer who uses the website for a Regular Saver Issue 8.
If I login to the app using the "Existing Customer" button will it stop me from using the website myaccounts.monbs.com online access?
I can not see the new App Exclusive Regular Saver Issue 1 that I have just opened (using the app) on the website myaccounts.monbs.com online access (yet?), but I can see it in the Monmouthshire BS phone app.2 -

Under exclusive accounts in appThe main flaw seems to be associated with resilience under high load. It's been updated since the last incident. What better way to stress test it than to make an offer that's too good to refuse. Clearly some issues remain, but my experience this time was better than last. Perhaps a step in the right direction.Overall less hassle than a postal application, and unlike some other providers, no need to re-enter personal information they already have.0 -
