So is there no £3 charge if you don't set up any direct debits? . I have tried looking in t and Cs and couldn't find anything to that effect but probably me not looking properly!flaneurs_lobster said:
Think that works, I've got two Edge current accounts (+ their Edge Savers) and there doesn't seem to be any prohibition on holding one of each (Edge & Edge Up) flavour.Slinky said:Can you open an Edge account if you aleady have Edge Up? I've got solo and joint Edge accounts with no money in either of them and an Edge Saver for each of them. If you don't set up the direct debits on the Edge account, then you won't get any charges for it.One of mine is due to downgrade interest rate at the end of the month, I'm thinking I may close it before the end of the month and open another, just in case they pull the 6% rate.
As you say, just don't set up DDs to avoid the £3 charge.0 -

That's correct. I've had my 2 current Edge accounts and associated Edge savers for 2 years and never paid any charges as someone on MSE kindly pointed out it says somewhere in the T&Cs that the benefits and charges only become payable once there are 2 DDs setup. I had actually set up an Edge account and 2 DDs, and was being charged, but closed and reopened a new one which I've never used for anything.Make £2025 in 2025

A neat trick!!! And it seems you don't have to pay in £500 a month to retain the account, just to earn cashback.Slinky said:s71hj said:

That's interesting, I do have 2 DDs on mine but don't pay in £500 so I've never had to pay the fee!flaneurs_lobster said:
