I've had 1 RS closed with full monies and all interest todate returned (maturity was end of November). A second RS with £2250 returned with the remaining £750 being ok but won't be adding anymore funds (matures end of November with all interest accured including the overpaid amount). My 3rd RS is running as normal @ £250 per month (matures end of March 2026).After receiving the letter, I decided it was far better for me to tell MH which accounts I wanted overpaid funds to be removed from i.e. 2 x RS ending in Novermber rather than them taking it upon themselves to empty and close the RS ending March 2026
Just to clarify, I hadn't applied for anymore MH RS, so it may not be a case of applying for another that has tipped the system & bulding society off to multiple RS with the monthly max being paid into each every month rather than splitting the £250 monthly max between the RS accounts as per the T&C's.~ NSD 2026 - NSD January 0/20 (1)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel 2026 - On Rest# No.36 Make £2026 in 2026 £0 / £2026 (1)# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2026 £0 / £730 (1)# No.2 Save 1p A Day 2026 £0 / £667.95 (1)# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge 2026 £0 / £1378 (1)# No.4 Save £12k in 2026 £0 / £12,000 (1)# No.16 Sealed (Christmas) Pot Challenge 19 - 2026 - 24/12/25 - 24/10 2026 £50+ / £400 (1)0 -

Payments.
Then select your ‘From’ and ‘To’ accounts.money transferred to RS but RS account is not showing with the other 2 accounts?also, can i leave the other 2 accounts with NIL balance?and do a SO direct to the RS or does it have to be via the Zopa bank account, please?
Yes, you can leave current account and Primary Pot with nil balance, although I've got a few pence in both from interest.
Can't help with SO, always do a manual transfer.1 -
Zopa have their autosave feature, which pulls money from a current account you link through open banking directly into the RS. A few of us had an issue where it was missed for some reason in June so I do mine manually at the moment.ToastLady said:

Can I ask, at what point do you have a say in what account the money is taken from and returned? Like you, I would rather have it taken from my Nov maturing account and not my March account.Dizzycap said:trickydicky14 said:

With RS accounts do you have to fund the account on the same date each month? I am just going through each account and it seems, Halifax RS account I have funded on a different day this month, not sure whether I will earn interest on this.0

What do the T&Cs say?20122013 said:With RS accounts do you have to fund the account on the same date each month? I am just going through each account and it seems, Halifax RS account I have funded on a different day this month, not sure whether I will earn interest on this.5 -
No, you can fund them fund them whenever you like within the limit set by the account t&c. In case of Halifax you can fund it up to £250 on any day/s during the calendar month. Yes you will earn interest from the date you funded it.20122013 said:With RS accounts do you have to fund the account on the same date each month? Some you do (HSBC and First Direct), as they set the standing order date. Although you can change it.20122013 said:With RS accounts do you have to fund the account on the same date each month? Beware some accounts don't run on calendar month, they run on account month, so whereas most accounts the month begins on the 1st, some of them depend upon what date of the month they were opened (Coventry and Santander spring to mind).I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
Generally, no - most of them have a maximum deposit "per calendar month" so you can deposit at any time in the month and will start earning interest from that date. Exceptions that spring to mind are First Direct (which forces you to deposit on the same day each month) and Zopa (where you can deposit at any time, but the new "month" date is the date you opened the account, e.g. mine is the 27th each month).20122013 said:With RS accounts do you have to fund the account on the same date each month?
