Closing the Virgin RS

It can only be done online, not in the app

Without logging in, which I don’t want to do right now, I can only say from memory how to do it. Look for closing a current account- IIRC, it’s under “More….”. You just enter the sort code and account number of your RS, give an acct for the outstanding interest, send it off and sit back

EDIT: my interest arrived in my non-Virgin current account from “Cb Customer Service” 😜

how did you do the "closing" part? just tried the chat bot and it says you have to call them, fine for mine not so good for my OH.

I messaged them earlier requesting closure. I didn't even notice a chat option.

Mine matured a couple of days ago, 29th. Yesterday it converted to the simple saver with interest added. 

Withdrew it all and moved elsewhere. 

I’ve reapplied for another, waiting for that to be processed. Have a feeling this won’t be quick. 

Took a few days for them to open my new one

Appeared this morning in the app. Shame it wasn’t yesterday, but quicker than I thought.

Details of what happens @ maturity were in the notes in red box at the bottom of VM email about maturity. Mine was dated 17 July. 

Basically, RS matures 31 July into an Everyday Saver. New account (same number) will appear online 2 August. Interest from 30/6 will be credited end Sept (or on closure of account).

No idea, but while it's sitting there I might just slip a cheeky £250 in JIC it's still paying 10%.

How do I close my Virgin RS? I’ve logged into online banking and the only closure form I can find says ‘Current Account’ closure. TIA.

Ignore the heading, just fill the form in regardless.
