I'd assume you should be able to. The terms of the current issue only say you can't have more than one of that particular issue, if the new RS terms follow suit you should be able to hold one of each issue. Same as Principality in that regard.francoghezzi said:
I do have the current issue, it'd be interesting to know if it will be possible to open even this oneBridlington1 said:Suffolk BS to launch new versions of their branch/post and online Fixed rate regular savers on Monday (21/7/25). Yes. They only mention closing it by phone or letter. Hope it can also be done on the app or online.pecunianonolet said:
So the Everyday Saver should be closed on 1st August to capitalise the interest after the last day of being paid 10% and to avoid funds being left to earn 1.75%?apt said:The 10% Virgin Money RS moves to a measly 1.75% Everyday Saver at the end of the month so should be moved on to a better place then. If you don't close the Everyday Saver this month's RS interest is only capitalised in September.
There's an option to close your account through online banking by submitting a closure form. I've used it to close the linked savings account that comes bundled with their current account (despite what they say, it does not get automatically closed when you close your current account), and I assume this online form will also allow you to close other types of savings accounts as well.
When logged in to internet banking, from the menus across the top of the page select the three dots "More" and scroll down to "Close an account" (under the Account Services sub-heading). From there you fill in a form with details of the account you wish to close and you can nominate an account (can be with another bank) to receive any outstanding balance/interest.
I can confirm this still works for closing a savings account.
After reading this, I filled the form on Wednesday to request closure of an old M Plus Saver (that wasn't automatically closed when the current account was switched away). And I have just checked and it is no longer showing in my online banking. I haven't received any message about it so not sure when it was actioned. It could have been yesterday as I didn't check. So it's been 1-2 days for me
Assuming it'll work for the regular saver too9 -
Anyone know whether a cheque should be made out to Dudley BS, my name or both? It mentioned it was possible to open by cheque in the pop up when you download the application form but I didn’t see anything to that effect.

When paying a cheque into an account, they should be made payable to the account holder's name.

The last time I opened a Reg Saver with Dudley BS I didn't send a cheque in with the application form, I waited for the account to be opened and made a FP to it on receipt of their confirmation of opening letter. They will then send a passbook once a payment's been made.Kim_13 said:Anyone know whether a cheque should be made out to Dudley BS, my name or both?
