It was easier just to transfer from chase to flex and to RS . Didn’t want to waste time and clutter up my payees on ChaseSpeculator said:
Why not transfer the funds directly from your Chase to your NW regular saver?SloughSally said:I’ve always feed my Nationwide Regular savings with a transfer from my Chase account into NW Flex account then internal transfer to my RS.
For whatever reason it’s not allowing me to do the internal transfer now, instead prompting me to set up a standing order, no big deal but will just have to make sure there is enough in the flex account to cover the standing order on the 1st of each month.

@SloughSally can answer for themselves but the reason I do this is that it's easier if you have several RS (I have 30+) often with multiple accounts with a single institution, to credit to a single account and distribute onwards internally. Keeps the number of payees manageable on your main feeder account and these usually stay reasonably static over the years while individual RS accounts are often replaced annually.Speculator said:

Maybe I'll start using this method, to save faffing adding additional payees and having to ignore the confirmation of payee.flaneurs_lobster said:

Also saves ending up with a load of redundant payees clogging up your main account when accounts mature and having to go through and deleting them, which adds to the admin.
Will be handy February and March where the 1st falls on a weekend and Principality, who I have loads of accounts with, credit accounts on non-working days as well.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
Particularly useful when funding Principality, they have a handy Online Easy Access account and the internal transfer mechanism is simple and fast. Will be handy February and March where the 1st falls on a weekend and Principality, who I have loads of accounts with, credit accounts on non-working days as well.
This model for funding is also useful when your main feeder bank doesn't allow duplicate sort code/account no entries in your payee list.2 -
COP worked this morning on my West Brom RS (who sent me an email about setting up a pin even though I already have one) and Suffolk opened Monday pm, so in the case of the latter it didn’t take the 48 hours stated but two overnights.
Presumably those wanting to internal transfer into Flex RS were doing so having funded their current account in what has historically been a Fairer Share qualifying month.1 -

I would wait until tomorrow. It seems, according to WB's CS agent, that they send the email out when the account is "almost fully" open! I got my email today and failed to open the online access after a couple of tries, but was told it should work tomorrow. You should get another email tomorrow with details of how to register for online access.Bob2000 said:WEST BROWWICH WINTER SAVER.
I applied for the account yesterday noon and then received a text and email that they were checking my ID.
Today at 10.26am, I had another email stating that they needed additional ID, so I resent my passport.
Just got in, and it looks like the account is open.
So do l apply to register for online access or wait for WB to send me an email/letter?
Others on here have tried to fund it today and failed with COP, although some might have succeeded. Tomorrow should give a more certain level of success.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Online access email arrived 9.00am. Registering was straightforward and online access to see RS account happened as soon as the PIN was set up .... despite the message saying access will be available by tomorrow!Compiler of the RS League Table.

I always fund Nationwide RS via Flexdirect CA. I guess this is no more than a habit, but it becomes useful at this time of the year. There's a good chance that they will continue with Fairer Share £100 project, so I would deposit £500 to CA anyway.Speculator said:

Not trying to be pedantic, but ... I think the message says you can't withdraw money or change contact details until tomorrow, it says you can use the PIN to manage the account immediately. I do agree that it's slightly ambiguous in the wording though.Bobblehat said:

I agree the follow up email says that ... but the message on screen when the PIN is generated doesn't! I can't remember the exact wording but it never mentioned withdraw money or change contact details .... just online access tomorrow, hence my surprise when I decided to give it a go anyway!SH88SH88 said:

I only mentioned it in case someone else sees the same message and wonders why they have to wait yet another day to get online after setting up the PIN. The email you quoted arrived a few minutes after I had already viewed the account online!
