Funny, it's still showing on the website as available at 6% and nothing about imminent reduction to 5.75%happybagger said:Separately, for anyone with the Dudley BS Loyalty Regular Saver (still available), the rate will fall to 5.75% on 14 January. (source: letter)0 -
Yes, that is also decreasing to 4.75%alfred64 said:
Have they indicated whether the Regular Saver (5%) will decrease? I did not qualify for the loyalty one. If this one falls below current rate I shall probably stop funding it.happybagger said:Separately, for anyone with the Dudley BS Loyalty Regular Saver (still available), the rate will fall to 5.75% on 14 January. Monmouthshire RS issue 8Clairec666 - you were asking for recent experience of "refreshing" this account.I did so this week. Bit of a faff as due to "technical glitch" had to set new PIN and get App ID. You can't just close existing account. Says you need to phone or message. I phoned and was told in fact you have to send message on App to prove your identity. Having said that, it was closed a few hours later and I was able to open a new issue 8.Happy Christmas and many thanks to all who have posted helpful advice on this forum, especially Bridlington. It has been much appreciated.2

Hah, good old Monmouthshire, bless 'em. I might look for an easier option elsewhere!lucky77 said:Monmouthshire RS issue 8Clairec666 - you were asking for recent experience of "refreshing" this account.I did so this week. Thanks for this! I missed out on the online one and the fact that both the application and withdrawal had to be done by post, on the other account, was putting me off. This sweetened it enough for me to go for it. Will be interested to see if it gets processed before the end of the monthrob37uk said:

In addition does anyone know if the two festive RSs were mentioned in this round of rate cuts?alfred64 said:

I'm yet to receive any post today so don't know if the letters only mention the accounts you hold or whether they mention all the affected accounts. Tried phoning Dudley but they've shut early for Christmas so shan't be open till Monday 29th.
They wouldn't be the first to do this, Progressive BS's website didn't update till the cuts came into effect the last few times, I've had to phone them to get advanced notice of cuts to their rates in the past. Their phone lines are shut till 30th though so unless they've sent out letters I shan't have any info till at least then.Hattie627 said:

I've been keeping track of which of my accounts are facing an interest drop, which are staying the same, and which are yet to be announced. I'm only looking at accounts I actually have myself, so this is not a complete list:
Natwest / RBS - digital regular saver drops to 5.25% AER
Cooperative - remaining at 7%
Zopa - remaining at 7.1%
Skipton - tracks base rate
Nationwide - nothing yet announced (variable rate)
Monmouthshire - nothing yet announced (variable rate)
Darlington - nothing yet announced (variable rate)
Progressive - nothing yet announced (variable rate)
Hanley - nothing yet announced (variable rate)
Manchester - nothing yet announced (variable rate)
Principality - fixed rate, no new issue released yet (cuts to other accounts already announced)
Virgin - fixed rate, account not currently on offer
First Direct - fixed rate, no drop announced for new accounts
TSB - fixed rate, no drop announced for new accounts
Lloyds group - fixed rate, no drop announced for new accounts
I'm particularly keeping a lookout for Monmouthshire, Darlington, Progressive and Hanley, as they are variable rate and also some of my higher-paying accounts.2 -

Thanks - much more thorough than my list! Quite a few still to be announced, I'm anticipating a few more cuts to come.1

We're still only 6 days in to be fair. But for those trying to avoid all things festive, the regular savers election night coverage has only just begun and shall continue to run into 2026.clairec666 said:Thanks - much more thorough than my list! Of those yet to declare, possible ones to watch would be:
Kent Reliance and Melton BS have yet to cut any of their regular savers to my knowledge since the BOE Base Rate was at 5.25% so if they hold again this time that'll be 6 consecutive interest rate cuts they've held their rates and would cement their status as ``safe seats".
For a big name many shall be watching Nationwide who are also yet to cut their Flex Regular Saver interest rates so issues 4 onwards have remained at 6.5% thus far. This'll be of particular concern for those holding the account in case of a possible fairer share payment next year.
Bath BS have made cuts on each occasion so may be vulnerable to further cuts.
Monmouthshire BS have also been vulnerable to cuts in the past, often sharper than others so it'll be interesting to see what the swing shall be this time round in relation to the 0.25% cut to the base rate.
Last year YBS's £50 RS bucked the trend and held its 8% rate till maturity despite cuts elsewhere among YBS's regular savers, will this year's 50 Pound RS at 6% be as fortunate?
One that's likely slipped under the radar of many is that GB Bank entered the regular savers market earlier this year at 4%, they held last time but have recently gone NLA. How they act may be worth observing in case they re-enter the market at a higher rate in the future.
Of course the above could prove to be a complete and utter load of nonsense.0
