As Rodders, points out, the condensate pipe (white, plastic) and safety discharge (copper, thinner) both appear to head down to the condensate pump tank. There is seemingly no visible means of checking on a discharge from the safety pipe, which is a shame.

Unless you are happy to investigate further yourself - ie figure out how to remove the lid from that tank, and a way of monitoring discharge from both pipes (there should be zero from the copper pipe, and nothing from the white plastic after the boiler has been off for a while - then it's engineer visit time.

I've been on check a trade and mybuilder but only got one reply. the engineer is asking £70 +vat to look at it. I've no idea how much the going rate is for a gas man 😳

I had to call out a Gas safe engineer out on Boxing Day last year.
£120 + VAT ( South East ) for a one hour visit.

Our normal people , who do the servicing etc., seem not to work on bank holidays, so had no choice as it was urgent.
if you think about it , you need a qualified person who is not going to blow your house up, They have to come to you especially just for one short visit.
In that case £70 seems a bit low.
