Yesterday was so foggy and dank that I only went out to takeaway my smelly rubbish bag and came straight home. The day was spent deep in sloth apart from sorting out my pyjamas drawer. I've now got a bag for the CS and one for the textile hopper. That was a long overdue job so I'm glad that it's done now.As for today...I had planned to do shopping on Monday but now shifted that as almost the whole of Scotland has a yellow weather warning for torrential rain for two days. There's always an element of danger here with such heavy and persistent rain, we still have the effects of the October 2023 horrors to live with. Anyway, today's the day though I don't need much. That's all for now, I hope that everyone has made it through the last couple of days OK. Hugs all round.14

Thanks for the start Gers - sounds like a good plan to get the shopping sorted. Just thick fog here again, I think it’s due to lift today.Nice but tiring day with visitors yesterday - they were late as their car wouldn’t start so meal timings all a bit out of the window. Mary Berry’s fish pie with a soufflé topping went down ok though.Today - they’ll likely leave late morning - there’s Bdog to walk, a new phone to set up for DMum and a new weather station for DDad, will see how much my brain can take.Hope everyone is getting back to normal after the festivities, or enjoying looking forward to a new year.AA14

Morning folks and thanks GERS. We have the blooming fog with us again, it barely lifted all day yesterday. Can winter days get any more depressing?
DS called up yesterday to avail himself of spare room in my recycling bin! It's due to be emptied today, postponed from Thursday. They had filled theirs to capacity. He brought me some Christmas Day Soup he had made from their leftovers so that is in the fridge for now. He is off to do a bit of shopping this morning but I declined his offer go too as there is far too much yet to eat, including a mountain of sweet stuff. And top of my resolution list is to make inroads into the freezer stocks which never seem to go down.
Today's jobs got underway earlier as I had the usual early morning wake up. Grr. So once the mats and towels have finished washing they will festoon the upstairs and I will go into sloth mode for the rest of the day and who knows what delights may follow!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up or sad. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Good morning all, don't know if it's still foggy as I haven't looked out.
Today is my birthday so I'm just enjoying being spoilt. Normality will resume tomorrow.
Have a good day all.12 -

Good morning and happy birthday Remmie do what you have to do today Gers and stay in and take care I remember you telling us about roads collapsing and landslides in your area hunker down and stay safe . We still have the horrible fog and it’s chilly I can’t believe the lovely sunshine we had Boxing Day and it’s been thick fog ever since my youngest son and his family drove down to Harry Potter world yesterday it took them 8hours he said his head was pounding by the time he got there driving in bad fog but no doubt they will have a whale of a time now they are there but he’s probably dreading the drive back . Not a lot happening here I will be walking the dog later hubby will be watching the darts and I will start taking the decorations down I think I’m fed up of them now . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Hi everyone,
Izzy, they will love HP world if they are fans.
We are meeting Chris, Crystal and Nate at Wimpole Hall, it's NT and has a farm. Nate is farm vehicle obsessed, his favourite TV show is tractor Ted which is basically about farm equipment and what it does.
The it's home to continue taking down the decks and tidying round before leaving tomorrow.
I watched the tsunami programme last night, it was fascinating but heartbreaking. Brian was in Thailand when it happened but thankfully on the other coast but I can imagine his parents would have been frantic.
Stay safe in this horrible weather.

Morning all and happy birthday Remmie.
Very dull and dreary here today. We are driving down to Rickmansworth to see friends and had thought of leaving the car there and going on into London to see the Christmas Lights. In view of the weather we might just come home again and go on Monday, when the weather should be better. I hope things don't get too bad where you are Gers.
@snoozer DGS aged 6 loved Tractor Ted and I think I knew all the episodes of the first two series off by heart. They went out to watch their local tractor run yesterday and I'm sure he's a candidate for Young Farmers once he's old enough.
Keep warm and dry today everyone.13
