That's lovely!weenancyinAmerica said:I had a Strawberry-shaped container of strawberry bath crystals that I kept on my living room end table because I loved the smell. When I was living in Utah, I had a number of people visiting including a young lady who was blind. She always said she loved being at my house as she could smell the strawberries.7 -
Thank you, last time I looked Coop did Mamade, but now you’ve mentioned. Sains….. I’ll head back there having borne my single bag of medium oatmeal from there in triumph last week. Daughter & I had to share - perhaps good food economy I guess.Cherryfudge said:
I got some in Sains... our T*sco doesn't even do M*made marmalade tins any more.Viking_mfw said:I have been turning a boatload of on-the-turn strawberries from Olio into hopefully enough jam for my kids for 6 months (they eat the creative flavours I make to use up olio fruit boxes but they really prefer the red stuff!). Conservatively £15 worth of jam for about 2.50 in sugar and some gas. Half as much still to do because I only have 2 jam pans! Was very surprised not to be able to get Certo in Toscos though - runnier but cheaper I suppose!
I bet your house smells wonderful after cooking so many strawberries.6 -
Hi, I’m joining very late in the year - or perhaps diligently early for next year depending on how you see it. I need to recommit to my old thrifty ways, as being comfortable for the first time in my life over the last couple of years is starting to run away with me. I’m lucky enough to have a lovely home and garden and to be able to cook something from nothing, which I think will be a good start for contented thriftiness. I’m hoping to get re-thrifty enough to save a lump towards my daughter’s driving lessons in about 18 months’ time because WOW they’ve gone up since I last knew about such things.“Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” 🐠https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6098084/discount-duck-s-quest-for-mortgage-freedom#latest7

Welcome @DiscountDuck I too am learning how much lessons have gone up in price! My DS starts in a few weeks, I am hoping it will be a quick process 😆5

I stocked up on Mamade for me and my sister when Asda sold it off at half price, though I enjoy making proper marmalade on a cold January day.
The Homecook prepared Seville oranges for marmalade, sold at Lakeland, has no added pectin or other additives.

But still half price. They have had various offers recently. My freezer is now full of cut price roasts to see me through to 2026! Next deal seems to be pork loin roasts at half price. They are quite large so I cut them up before freezing. Pork loin is such a dense meat you don't need a large joint so it goes a long wayIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!4
