Does- did any employers pay you any money mean PAYE from a company or does it mean subcontracted work as self-employed?  Of paye i got nothing but I don't understand why they're asking about paye because I thought they were connected to the hmrc and knew what I was getting?

Also, why are they suddenly asking?  I started a new 37hr a week paye job in early Dec as well as my usual self employed work

  • They mean PAYE not Self-Employment. This sometimes triggers if you’ve reported starting (employed) Work but nothing has been received from HMRC which isn’t unusual if you start a Job but have to wait a month or so to be paid etc.
