Morning allHad a lovely day at our DSs yesterday. Good company and good food, what more can you ask for! My DS has a quite stressful job (he was working nights last night) and I bought him a stress relief ball in the shape of a piece of poo (we've both got a warped sense of humour) and the ideas he had in pranking a few people gave us such a laughGot home in time to settle down to watch the last Gavin & Stacey so that was a bonus too as I would have seen spoilers if we'd waited for todayToday it's going to be a picky lunch and settle down in front of the TV.Hope everyone and their poodles have a lovely dayTake care all x11

Morning all
Dry here but feels chilly will light the fire soon. We had a lovely day yesterday much food and drink consumed and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves we all got lots of lovely presents too all in all a good day.
I spent a lot of the night coughing so today will be a relaxed one we will have a clean through and then fire in and a couple of films later, dinner will be cold meat mash and pickles which is one of my favourite meals and nice and easy.
I am laughing at the foxtrotting poodles 😂😂
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Good morning all and glad to hear you all had a good day yesterday. Ours was good-ish. Bit of a disaster with the new oven/turkey which saw us eating 2 hours later than planned, meaning DS1 and DIL had to leave straight after the main course as were due at her Mums and it’s now an hours’ drive away. I wasn’t able to have a (much-needed) drink until gone 6pm as had to drop Mum home. HOWEVER it was nice to be with everyone in our new home and we enjoyed the company which is never taken for granted.Today we have said we won’t get dressed(!) as have no plans to see anyone 😊
Hugs to those who are finding the season difficult - such a lovely community on here to offer a listening ear - again, never taken for granted despite me not posting every day.Wishing everyone a good day today.Coxy xCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings13 -
Morning All (just)
Had a great day yesterday although most of it was spent in the kitchen cleaning up after DS2! His Beef Wellington was indeed worth the money and effort, it was delicious. We all had a good laugh along the way and enjoyed dinner with DD and family and our friends from across the road.
Hope those who find this time of year difficult have come out of it unscathed.
I started with a cold on Tuesday night and have felt progressively worse as the days go on, DS1 and family arriving today - I have told them I have a snotty cold but haven't heard anything so they are probably still coming. I'm giving them my bed for tonight so I'll be on the airbed in the living room - there's a 10pm curfew!
The weather yesterday was unseasonally mild, still mild today but raining steadily - I did comment that if it hadn't been Christmas Day I would have hung washing out yesterday!
Cold food and warmed up leftovers for later which suits me fine.
Hope you all enjoy today, love to the foxtrotting poodles! take care. XX

Good morning everyone
Well I seemed to have cheered everyone up with my poodles yesterday. It was my tablet taking control and not the red wine - honest! I actually get some strange variations for poorlies including plotlines and poolside, so I need to be extra careful now when reading through before posting.
Pleased to hear everyone's day went off as well as it did. It's misty and murky here today so nothing planned other than feet up with the tv for company.
Thoughts are with the sad, lonely or the poorlies (checked)
Take care x11 -
Still recovering from having 10 at the Christmas table yesterday! Much food was provided, but not much of it left - like Nigella, I never knowingly undercater but I'm not used to cooking for that many.
Soap-level drama provided by niece who was throwing up all of yesterday - hospital confirm it was a tummy-bug but she (being quite little) did not appreciate being left out of the feast. She was ill this morning as well - whilst tidying her room, I found a stash of Quality Street wrappers (don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure what happened!!).
Now everyone has gone - we just slumped in front of a Cadfael, revelling in watching something without someone talking over it, fighting with their siblings or demanding you watch them do a handstand near the Christmas tree and throwing a tantrum when told not to.
