    Personally I'd recommend building your own purely for the flexibility to customise your build to exactly what you want, but I agree that buying a pre-built system is simpler.
    I did for a couple of decades but the last two machines I built (going back a while now) ran like the proverbial off a shovel for 4-6 months then did some driver updating and it all went pear shaped. Both times was unable to return the machines to their previous stable/fast selves and somewhat threw in the towel moving to laptops where self build is much rarer.

    Something else to watch out for is memory.
    Intel systems may or may not become unstable with 4 sticks of RAM, so make sure you have all the RAM you are likely to ever need in 2 sticks, so 2 48GB sticks if you want 96GB.

    (It may just be anecdotal problems on t'interweb that only affected a handful of people, but it doesn't hurt to avoid a possible problem.)
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    (except air quality and Medical Science ;))
